To me, it's tough to argue with 2007 being the best year for video game releases. Portal. Assassin's Creed. Uncharted. BioShock. Mass Effect. So many fantastic franchises were birthed during this year and these first entries — every single one of them — still hold up. That's not to mention all of the new titles that appeared in existing franchises. Halo 3, God of War II, Super Mario Galaxy, etc. I challenge you to name a better year for bangers.
Out of everything I've seen so far this year, I had the most fun with this. It's a comedy in disguise, taking on the labels of "thriller" or "horror" in the same way Cocaine Bear does. For now, it's going to be the 2025 movie I don't shut up about.
Really wish I liked this one more. Rewriting the way ghosts traditionally work gives away the ending a little bit. Still, I hearing some surprised gasps at points! Not everyone saw where this was going, but I'm afraid those people might've been the ones who left confused.
Could have done without "Bye Bye." Nothing rips you out of a tense moment like having the villain sing the world's cringiest song. Otherwise... not bad.
