Yellowstone
Don't get me wrong I've stuck it out till now through plot holes, repetitive or unexplained/discontinued storylines, inconsistent character developments (the Jamie Zig Zag of not learning lesson and no ability to self reflect is legendary), a season 4 writing quality drop b/c of TS dancing at to many weddings and the writing mess that was 5A, so a handful more episodes I guess I'll get through too. It's not so much enjoyment anymore it's more I need to know how this car crash ends, good or bad.
Even after all that the show or more precisely the writing found a new level the "jumping the shark" level.
For 5x9 I did find myself after 14 mins repeatedly visiting the fridge hoping for something good I hadn't seen on my previous trips to the kitchen. The hope was there, squashed again and again and that's pretty much how the rest of the episode went too. The beginning an uninspired cop out with the rest asking myself why am I here with 1 eye popping scene with Tate wondering if TS is trying to teach us what E=Mc2 means with Helena being the center of the universe so 6 weeks there are apparently 2 years at the Yellowstone cause .. well look at Tate putting his best GranPa Dutton voice on display driving cars and sh**!
Oh and to those vowing to boycott an actor for essentially pointing out to the shows production executives that scripts are needed to shoot stuff (and pushing a shooting schedule therefore back again and again is not only alienating the viewers but is also hard on the cast and crew since they have to sit on their hands waisting time that could be used to make a living otherwise) put your ire where it belongs, TS & P+! So what did the executives do to help alleviate the situation, that's right they threw some money at the press for a lil smear campaign against the shows star, uninvited him to come back to finish up the story & greated every offer of said actor to come in to give the character a propper send off for the fans with disrespectful comments!

Who are these historians you talk of? Be a bit more specific.
"We Should All Be In Prison": Kevin Costner Gets Candid About Yellowstone's Ending
True, though I would love to see a bit more refined research instead of repeating some stuff as facts that have been set straight months ago .. like Horizon 1 didn't cost 100 Million -- Horizon 1+2 has essentially been shot back to back and that 100 Mill is in relation to both chapters (1+2) .. which does paint a bit of a different picture doesn't it. 🤷
Remake Of Kevin Costner & Whitney Houston's $411M Romantic Thriller Takes Major Step Forward After 3 Years Of Silence
Originality is dead .. we are doomed to watch copies of copies going forward.
So what are the studio doing in 20 years when there is nothing to remake because they didn't put in the work and risk to create new IP's?
Everyone only looking as far as their noses while dismissing film makers that still try while actively being rooted against.. even with nonsense smear campaigns being applied just to be able to pronounce "I told you so!"
But that's the world we are now living in .. loads of ppl sh**ing on everyone who dares to make an effort but if asked if they have a senseical solution/plan .. there is nothing. :(
The Failure Of This Epic 1960 John Wayne Western Mirrors Kevin Costner's Horizon Saga After Part 1's Box Office Flop
To the writer of this article, you need to step up your research game. It seems like either there are too much AI manufactured click bait headlines part of your research or you are ignoring a few facts that don't fit your initial thesis.
For example, Chris Hemsworth showed interest in one of the romantic damedy scripts Costner is developing/has the rights to. At no point was he in talks in relation to Horizon.
It is well established that at any point Mr. Costner has always a handful of scripts/projects at the ready to be ready if the opportunity presents itself. (The man is known to be a bit of a workaholic for a reason.)
Will the Yellowstone franchise ever escape Kevin Costner's shadow?
I would think most fans will try to ignore 5B going forward since it was such an incredible disservice to the seasons before it. If I had to pick the most disappointing thing about 5B it would be quite hard to pick one out of this bucket 🪣 of s*** ... but let's take the funeral and how the body was transfered. The disrespect for the character of JD was mind-blowing you are telling me that not only an escorts like in S4 when he was transfered home from the hospital was in the budget to film .. this has been done so much better on TV before.. but hey those model girlfriends and horse spinning costs money too including all that filming on TS's ranch where he can literally dictate the price. Gee I would love to know what TS has on those Paramount executives for funding this. 🤷
