There were so so many problems with this movie that aren't worth going into... But for.me the biggest was how non-committal Scott was about how this fit into the Alien canon. If it was a prequel, there were huge plot holes. If it wasnt a prequel...wtf did we just sit through? His attitude.of.it being sort of a prequel was exasperating
