Follow the Main Quest-Line

Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis offers a lot of space to explore, and impossibly difficult enemies lurking nearby to pursue but, it's important that players stick to the main story for a period of time. Some main missions have some power-level gatekeeping requirements, but NPCs along this path tend to provide players with exactly what they need. Also, the main story provides tips and tricks that will help players along later, rather than spending needless hours trying to figure things out. The main missions also run their course pretty quickly, and the bosses are much weaker compared to finding them randomly out in the field. The quests are designed to lead players to all the exploration and combat areas that each possesses beneficial amounts of items and enemies to increase EXP gains. It's simply up to players to navigate and organize an appropriate strategy.

Combat Area's/Urgent Quests/Power Level

Once players have reached Resol Forest which is level 15-20, head back to any recently discovered areas and grind any Cacoon's stumbled upon into dust. These will in turn allow players to quickly level up their skills and become more proficient in battle, enabling them to take on higher-level challenges and survive longer in combat enriched areas. Reaching this Forest also grants access to the side and daily tasks which much to anyone's benefit, is an excellent source of exp. Urgent quest's become available after Power Level 1180+, usually high reward tasks with a bit of a challenge to them. During these quests, be sure to amass a healthy collection of N-EXP boosters; these can increase EXP gains by 25-100% and last upwards of 20mins of active playtime.

Power Leveling can be a little tricky since it requires a steady influx of weapons, materials, and Maesta. Early on, try not to spend to much time enhancing weapons unless it is an absolute must. It's better to quickly cycle out old weapons with new ones, and concentrate on performance rather than appearance. Using the exact same weapon type to enhance a currently equipped weapon provides the best gains, but only low rarity types drop that frequently. Armor requires only materials and Maesta instead of other armor pieces, so enhance those frequently if anything.

Regional Mags

Mags are floating companions that accompany the player on their adventures. In PSO2, players had to constantly feed themselves to provide the required energy necessary to assist in battle by using special abilities. However, Mags also supply ive buffs that increase drop rates, character speed, and a number of other bonuses. New Genesis gives players a Mag from the very beginning of the game, eliminating the preliminary quest process found in PSO2. Aside from these Mags, however, are gigantic Mags found across Halpha in random locations, usually overseeing a majority of the relative region. These Mags can be fed a number of items players can quite easily mine, pick up from non-aggressive enemies, and harvest from plants around the landscape. Depending on the type of item, it can alter the kind of bonuses received but feeding the Mag in and of itself provides a buff specific to that regional Mag. The South Aeolin Mag rewards players with a 10% EXP gain bonus, so this is an excellent way of speeding up the process.
