Beth Harmon (Anya Taylor-Joy) drew viewers in, and it became an instant hit. Not only did the miniseries do well on Netflix, but it also inspired a resurgence in the interest in chess.
Mondo is pairing up with Netflix to create a unique The Queen's Gambit vinyl. The intricate score for The Queen's Gambit was written by Emmy-winning composer, Carlos Rafael Rivera. In fact, The Queen's Gambit is what gave him one of his two Emmy wins. In addition to the imaginative music, the vinyl has an equally mesmerizing design. Although the cover is flat, it appears to be 3-D. Check out the photos from Mondo below:
The top and front of the cube have black and white chess squares with one green square. The green square is reminiscent of the pills Beth became addicted to at a young age. Additionally, Beth appears to be inside the cube, half-hidden by the edge of the cube. There are also die-cut sleeves within the vinyl that have more images from the series paired with a white, black and green chessboard design. The equally cool and confusing design was made by Alan Haynes. This The Queen's Gambit vinyl is a part of Mondo's special Mondo x Death Waltz 10-year anniversary.
