With one more movie to go before his planned retirement, there’s a lot of speculation about what Quentin Tarantino’s 10th and final movie will be, but streaming has now saved him from fulfilling that promise. Quentin Tarantino has become one of the most respected but also controversial filmmakers of his generation, and his works have stood out for his peculiar narrative and visual style, along with the big doses of violence and blood in each of his movies. Tarantino’s career began in 1992 with Pulp Fiction.

Since Kill Bill movies as one, he has one spot left to fill, but it’s still unknown what his final movie could be about. However, the entertainment industry has changed a lot since Tarantino first spoke about his 10-movie plan, and recent years have seen the rise of streaming services, and these have saved Tarantino from his plan as his career can continue in the world of streaming.

Tarantino doesn’t seem to have plans to start working on his tenth film soon, but he does have plans to make a TV show. While promoting his new book Cinema Speculation, Justified, and though his name was absent from the official cast and crew list, he could still be somewhat involved in it.

Although he has mostly focused on making movies, Tarantino is no stranger to the world of TV. Tarantino directed an episode of ER in 1995 (“Motherhood”) and one episode of CSI: Crime Investigation in 2005 (“Grave Danger”), and he has had minor acting roles in some TV projects. Tarantino played an Elvis Presley impersonator in The Golden Girls, Desmond Winocki in All-American Girl, McKenas Cole in Alias, and voiced Master Moloch in Duck Dodgers and the narrator in Super Pumped. However, directing a full TV series or miniseries would be new ground for him, and as streaming offers more creative freedom than television, it would be the best way for Tarantino to continue his career.

Tarantino's 10th Movie Isn't As Big A Deal Now (Thanks To Streaming)

As mentioned above, the entertainment industry has changed a lot with the rise of streaming platforms. These have given writers and filmmakers more creative freedom and bigger budgets so they can seize their creativity – and this has allowed big-name directors to helm streaming TV content instead of focusing on just movies. Many TV shows exclusive to streaming services are more like movies divided into multiple parts, a concept that has been quite appealing to both creators and viewers, and something that wasn’t common when Tarantino’s career began. Streaming, then, could be the future of Quentin Tarantino’s career after his 10th movie: he can still retire from making movies after his 10th but can continue writing and directing streaming content so his career wouldn’t come to an end, and his 10th movie wouldn’t be a big deal anymore.
