Quickscoping, in essence, is the act of zooming down the scope quickly, firing the gun when the crosshair is pointed at the enemy, and quickly zooming back out in one smooth motion.
The first mention of quickscoping on the internet can be traced back to April 2007. A named Kevinsss described it as a sniping technique in which the player fires a sniper rifle at the same time they zoom down the scope. Counter-Strike players pioneered the use of quickscoping; however, the firing technique did not become popular until the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in November 2007. CoD Modern Warfare players began quickscoping en masse, leading to competitive quickscoping as well as multiplayer quickscoping.
Call of Duty: Warzone Quickscope Tips
Before learning the mechanics of quickscoping in Warzone, it is important to set up a loadout conducive to firing a rifle accurately and fast. The main attribute to look for in attachments is Aim Down Sight Speed. The entire point of quickscoping is to quickly scope down sight, and ADS speed allows players to do that effectively. Aim Walking Movement Speed and Sprint to Fire Speed also help players quickscope, but ADS speed will always be of the utmost importance. Recoil control may seem important, but it is not relevant to quickscoping since the idea is to get in and out of the scope as quickly as possible. The traditional quickscoping method involves long-range sniper scopes, but technically, any scope can quickscope. None of the Warzone perks help with quickscoping, so do not worry about those picks.
There are two main things to while quickscoping: body movement and crosshair placement. When players encounter an enemy they want to quickscope, they should not keep moving toward them. This makes the player a static target that only gets bigger as they move toward the enemy. Instead, strafe left to right, and even move backward, to make yourself an unpredictable, moving, and dangerous target.
Next, make sure to keep the crosshair pointing straight forward as much as possible. Even when just running around, try to keep the crosshair pointing straight forward. Players will sometimes need to move the scope while quickscoping, of course, but keeping the crosshair steady will help start this process. For example, if players encounter an enemy while rounding a corner and their crosshair is pointed straight forward, they will have a much better chance of hitting the enemy quickly. Just aim in, fire immediately when the crosshair is fully zoomed, and let go of the aim. If the enemy is stationary, a straight crosshair will aim toward their chest or head. If the enemy jumps, the crosshair will aim toward their lower half. If the enemy crouches, the crosshair will aim toward their head. Whatever the situation, quickscoping is meant to be quick, and preferably, a one-shot kill.
Players will have to experiment with different guns, loadouts, and controller/mouse sensitivities to find their preferred quickscoping style. However, base guidelines of movement speed and crosshair position apply to every sniper rifle and marksman rifle in the game. Play around with different combinations to see which style feels the most comfortable. not to get frustrated while learning to quickscope in Warzone! It takes a bit of time to figure it out, but the crazy killcams will be worth it in the end.
