Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be getting a world premiere PlayStation 5 demo at Gamescom. The demo will be featured as part of the jam-packed Opening Night Live streaming event this Thursday, August 27th. Teases for reveals at the two-hour Opening Night Live began last week and seem likely to continue right up until the day of the show.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart was announced earlier this year at the PlayStation 5 reveal event. The game's trailer showed Ratchet and Clank traveling through inter-dimensional portals, with an array of new weaponry and characters. This is the latest game in the Ratchet & Clank franchise, coming 6 years after the previous game. Though no release date has been announced yet, players anticipate it coming out this holiday season alongside the PS5, where it will show off the new console's quick-loading SSD to full effect.
Gamescom Opening Night Live producer Geoff Keighley took to Twitter today to announce the exclusive premiere of the Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart PS5 demo at the Opening Night Live event this Thursday. Keighley is hosting the two-hour event, which he says will feature gameplay, demos, and trailers for 38 games.
