A new promotion in bugs the developer has needed to adjust.
Despite its rocky beginnings, Red Dead Online has a consistent player base and continues the new co-op missions to bring players together to tackle content.
According to VG247, Red Dead Online’s current promotion makes an expensive achievement much easier to attain. Players who sell in-game Moonshine will receive 30% extra revenue on those sales, while Collectors will earn 50% more for selling Arrowheads or Bird Egg Collector Sets. In addition, “Pamphlets and Provisions are on sale this week for up to 50% off.”
Players who still haven’t acquired the Posse Up achievement will also have an easier time doing so, as the normal $200 fee for creating a posse is being waived until June 8, 2020. Anyone who creates a posse will permanently have the capability to posse up and cause some mischief together. Finally, apparel collectors can acquire various clothing items from the Wheeler, Rawson and Co. Catalogue until May 26, including the Tasman, Danube, Irwin Coat, and more.
Red Dead Online hasn’t received the same popularity or fan base as Grand Theft Auto Online. Perhaps this is because GTA Online has had a longer period to get traction and work out its kinks, or maybe it is because Rockstar didn’t seem to learn from GTA’s early struggles and released RDO too soon, resulting in a less-than-pleased community. Despite its flaws, however, Red Dead Online does remain consistent with the franchise’s overall theme: rough Western lawlessness coupled with grimy posses and frequent discord. For those who can tolerate the bugs and a bit of imbalance, RDO is a haven for the rugged – a domain for those who wish to live out their dark fantasies of being a six-shooting, rifle-toting, horseback riding, train robbing outlaw whose face appears on Wanted posters across the land.
Red Dead Online released on November 27, 2018, and is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
