Quick Links
Regidrago VSTAR has been around for a long time but finally gets its spotlight with Pokémon Trading Card Game Live's newest sets, Twilight Masquerade and Shrouded Fable. A fierce competitor on the ladder right now, Regidrago VSTAR has a myriad of ways to play thanks to its Apex Dragon move. This allows the card to choose the move of any Dragon-type Pokémon put into the discard pile. Therefore, the basis of this deck is to discard specific Dragon-type Pokémon cards to have the option to use any of their attacks.
Regidrago VSTAR is a Stage 1 Pokémon. This means that this card is an "evolved stage" of Regidrago V. Classified as Dragon-types, Regidrago V and Regidrago VSTAR also have the grueling task of using two types of Energy in order to attack. This can make a deck inconsistent, with the need to use two types of Pokémon Trading Card Game Energy. However, in Regidrago's case, its power comes from a few Pokémon and items that can have it attacking by at least Turn 3 of the game given the right circumstances.

Best Pokémon To Use In A Regidrago VSTAR Deck
A Regidrago VSTAR Deck's Favorite Pokémon To Play
Regidrago VSTAR relies on certain Pokémon in the Standard Format games that can help you draw cards, accelerate Energy, and play strategically. Therefore, the best partner for Regidrago VSTAR in a deck is the Teal Mask Ogerpon ex card, which was introduced in Scarlet & Violet's Twilight Masquerade set.
This Pokémon's ability allows you to attach one Energy to Ogerpon once per turn, all while allowing you to draw a card. By having the usable Energy on Ogerpon, players can use their Energy Switch Trainer Cards to put it on the Regidrago VSTAR instead. Furthermore, you can also put that Energy into the Lost Zone using Giratina VSTAR's Lost Impact for 280 damage on an opposing Pokémon. This, as well as the moves of Dragapult EX and Kyruem, of course, can only be used when it is put into the discard pile.
Since Regidrago VSTAR is a deck that relies heavily on Pokémon that can be knocked out for 2-Prizes, players can opt to use Radiant Charizard towards the end of the game with its Excited Heart ability. For the number of prize cards their opponents have taken, Radiant Charizard only needs a few Energy cards to deal 250 damage.

Items That "Switch" Up The Competition
There are certain items that may help you win the game faster in a Regidrago VSTAR deck. These items provide ways to discard your Dragon-type Pokémon, retrieve what you need from your deck, and accelerate Energy onto Regidrago VSTAR. Thankfully, for most Trainers playing the Pokémon Trading Card Game Live, it is easy to obtain these cards since they were given to you in pre-made decks when you start your game.
Many item card costs are low, with around 40–60 gems needed to obtain them if you haven't pulled them from virtual packs already. Alternatively, if you decide to invest in creating a physical deck yourself, buying, collecting, and trading is necessary, but it can all be found in a Pokémon TCG Trainer's Toolkit box.
