Capcom and GOG have teamed up to bring Resident Evil 3: Nemesis to PC in September. Earlier this year, the previous two games in the beloved franchise were brought to the platform, and now the third title will follow suit, bringing the 1999 classic to a wider audience on PC with quality-of-life improvements.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis will arrive on GOG on September 25 (as spotted by GameRant). The PC port will be DRM-free and compatible with controllers and Windows 10 and 11 running modern graphics engines. It will also feature several gameplay improvements, including better subtitles, task-switching, more rendering options, and general visual upgrades.

The GOG Resident Evil 3: Nemesis Port Is True To The Original

Unlike The 2020 Remake

Resident Evil 3 is both a prequel and a sequel to Resident Evil 2. The game takes place in two parts, taking place before and after the events of the second game, and puts players in the shoes of former S.T.A.R.S. agent Jill Valentine as she tries to escape from a zombie-infested Raccoon City.

This is not the first time that Resident Evil 3: Nemesis has come to PC, as the title was originally released as a PlayStation exclusive in 1999, it was later ported to the Dreamcast, GameCube, and 2000s-era Windows. A 2020 remake brought the game to modern audiences on all platforms, including PC, and the latest addition will bring the classic game to a wider audience once again in all its original glory.

The Resident Evil 3: Nemesis Remake Was A Bit Of A Miss For Fans

Although it looked visually stunning, the Resident Evil 3: Nemesis remake was not well received by fans. The remake was criticized for cutting content, including the removal of entire areas from the original game. The gameplay itself was updated to feature less exploration and puzzle-solving and more action and scripted moments. The remake was not a true port and was missing a few key elements, but until now it was the only way for fans to experience the game on PC.

GOG's latest PC port has no plans to cut content or change anything about Resident Evil 3 this time around. In fact, the team says that it's committed to bringing the game in its entirety to the platform, with as few changes as possible: "Our version of the game keeps all the original content intact."

GOG even includes the original description of the game, which promised "More zombies, more terror, and even more evil." The platform has already brought Resident Evil 1 and 2 to PC, making this the latest game in the franchise to bring back feelings of nostalgia and memories of running from face-munching zombies through GOG.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis will be available in six languages on Windows 10 and 11 when it launches on September 25. For fans of the franchise, playing an older title will be a great way to the time until the release of the recently confirmed Resident Evil 9.
