The demo is free to now, and players have already discovered an easter egg mocking Resident Evil 6. The Resident Evil games typically feature a lot of easter eggs and secrets tucked away inside the games' maps and it seems that Resident Evil 3 will be no different.
The recent remake of references a fan favorite character, Brad Vickers, who died during the third game. If players know where to look they can discover a recruitment poster for S.T.A.R.S. with Brad Vickers on it.
Game Rant reports that fans have already discovered an easter egg within Resident Evil 3 Remake, and it seems to be mocking one of the most hated games in the franchise: Resident Evil 6. Players can find an in-game poster for a movie called "Disaster" that seems like it may be spoofing the box art for RE6. Many feel that it may just be a coincidence, but it could very well be Capcom referring to the game as a disaster.
Resident Evil 6 has one of the lowest scores of any Resident Evil game and for good reason. The game almost completely stepped away from the horror genre and became more a third person shooter. It was also heavily criticized for its story, gameplay, and pacing issues and was almost universally hated by critics. While Resident Evil 6 is considered a critical disappointment, it did somehow manage to sell a massive amount of copies and is still one of the best-selling Capcom games of all time.
Easter eggs and secrets are always a joy to discover in new games. If a player manages to stumble across a joke or reference within a game it helps them feel like they are in on the joke with the developers. Easter eggs have almost always been a staple of the Resident Evil franchise and it seems that the recent remakes have decided to add in even more. If the one that players have already found is any indication, Resident Evil 3 Remake players will have a lot of secrets to keep them occupied when the full game releases.
