The Resident Evil 4's latest, gorier gameplay trailer during the Resident Evil Showcase in October 2022, which showed that the remake has a darker tone and a lot more grotesqueness than the original game. It's possible, however, that the graphical upgrade is making it seem gorier than what a GameCube/PlayStation 2 game could accomplish, even with its HD remaster.

Resident Evil 4 launches on March 24 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC (via Steam) and Xbox Series X/S. The game will be one of Capcom's biggest launches in recent history, rivaling that of Resident Evil Village and Monster Hunter Rise, so the company has already prepared a number of editions for players to choose from. The HD remaster of the original version of Resident Evil 4 is available on the Oculus and many other platforms, and is commonly on sale, so those who need their Leon fix and can't afford the new game can at least play the original game for cheap.

Those who want a Leon statue for their living room will have to be ready to shell out serious cash, as the Resident Evil 4 Collector's Edition costs £249.99/$249.99. It remains to be seen how good the figure and the Collector's Box look in the flesh, as there is only a single photo available of both. In most years, this would mean that UK gamers would be paying more for Resident Evil 4 than their American counterparts, but the decline of the British Pound in the past year means the costs are almost the same.
