Resident Evil ranks as one of the scariest gaming franchises. This Easter egg, however, is just downright creepy. It is a secret photo of Rebecca Chambers that can only be found with some odd determination on the player's part. The picture also seems to imply that Albert Wesker is even more weird and despicable than the main story lets on.

Rebecca Chambers is a recurring character in the franchise and has been around since the first Resident Evil, in which she appeared as a ing character. Her most notable appearance is in Resident Evil Zero, where she is the main character alongside Billy Coen. However, she hasn’t appeared in a mainline game for quite some time, so it’s possible she can return in the next Resident Evil game. She is a survivor of the Spencer Mansion incident and a former S.T.A.R.S. member. So, it makes sense that some files of her could be found in the S.T.A.R.S. office in the Raccoon City Police Station, but not in the way players might expect.

In the original Resident Evil 2, while investigating the S.T.A.R.S. office, players must hit the search button on Albert Wesker’s desk fifty times consecutively to obtain the Easter egg item titled Film D. After developing the film, it reveals a photo of Rebecca Chambers in an RPD basketball uniform. The picture itself isn’t really all that risqué, but the fact that the player must search that thoroughly implies Wesker, who could return in Resident Evil 9, kept the photo carefully hidden. The thought of him coveting the picture is beyond disturbing.

Resident Evil 2 Remake Includes An Weird Easter Egg From The Original

The Rebecca Chambers Easter egg was added into the Resident Evil 2 Remake but has a different set of requirements to find. First, players must find and develop the film Hiding Place. This enables further interaction with Wesker’s desk. The first search will award players with some weapon upgrades. The desk can be searched a second time. However, there is no button prompt to let the player know there’s something else to find. Doing so will add the film Rising Rookie to the inventory, yielding the new version of Rebecca’s photo.

The Easter egg in the remake isn’t as meticulously hidden as in the original, but its addition is a fun callback to the Easter egg and Rebecca Chambers, whom 9 different actors have played. In both games, though, Wesker seems pretty creepily attached to the photo, which isn’t ever explained. Wesker’s interactions with Rebecca are just as cold as with other characters, so it looks like it will remain a Resident Evil mystery.
