Some House Dimitrescu cosplayers have taken their love of Resident Evil Village to the next level by renting out a castle for a photoshoot. During Resident Evil Village, Lady Dimitrescu and her daughters appear as vampire-like mutants that ruthlessly hunt protagonist Ethan Winters throughout their gothic estate. Since her reveal, Lady Dimitrescu has garnered quite the following among Resident Evil fans and cosplayers for her aristocratic flair and sadistic personality.

With €600 (roughly $620) of their own money, waspany and friends rented out a castle for five hours in order to give their cosplay the setting it deserved. Judging by the photo of the trio by the castle’s beautiful fireplace, it was money well spent. The actual cosplay of the evil House Dimitrescu is spectacular, with Lady Dimitrescu’s attire appearing decadently accurate alongside the adornments and weapons of her brood. Resident Evil Village's House Dimitrescu Holds Court In A Real Castle
Unfortunately, not everything went smoothly for waspany's photo shoot. Knowledgeable Resident Evil Village fans may notice House Dimitrescu is short one daughter, as Lady Dimitrescu is the 'mother' of three. The daughters are just as commonly cosplayed as their mother, as one particularly bloody Resident Evil Village Dimitrescu cosplay shows, and this group originally planned to include all of the daughters in their castle visit. Sadly, the third daughter was stuck at work at the last minute and was unable to attend. Thankfully, waspany does plan to do another photo shoot with the whole family sometime in the future.
The castle-based cosplay is a testament to how well-received the gothic twist on Resident Evil was. Before Resident Evil Village, setting Capcom’s iconic horror series amidst supernatural elements like vampires and werewolves would've been considered a strange diversion for a story steeped in scientifically engineered abominations. However, Capcom’s subversive storytelling and characters like Lady Dimitrescu helped give Resident Evil Village players a scenario more akin to Castlevania without compromising Resident Evil's bio-mutagenic lineage. One wonders if the Resident Evil 9 will follow suit and once again fundamentally alter the game's formula.
It's impressive how much love House Dimitrescu received before Resident Evil Village even hit store shelves. Tributes to Lady Dimitrescu and her daughters appeared online mere hours after the characters were first revealed. With inspired cosplay opportunities, like renting a castle for a photo shoot, it's likely that fans will honor House Dimitrescu and Resident Evil Village for some time.
