Three more of the bosses from Lady Dimitrescu will stalk players in Resident Evil Village.
The publisher is planning on offering several short demos to players, with the first already launching last week. The second Castle demo is set to launch on April 24, giving players a better chance to experience the gameplay in Resident Evil Village compared to the more story-driven Village demo. Unfortunately, only PlayStation players will be able to and play these demos until multiplatform versions drop in May.
Although fans have had plenty of opportunities to see Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil Village, an exclusive from IGN has revealed some of the other bosses from the game. It turns out that the exceptionally tall woman is just one of four Lords who serve the deity-like figure of Mother Miranda. Speaking to IGN, art director Tomonori Takano explained that Dimitrescu is inspired by vampires while the other three also have gothic designs and are "based on werewolves, mermen, and ghosts."
The first of these three additional Lords is Karl Heisenberg, an engineer who wields a giant metal hammer. Players will have to take on the villain in his old family factory. Salvatore Moreau is the second boss and looks more like a hideous creature than a human. The designers specifically created Moreau to be "the most repulsive character on Earth." Finally, the last Lord revealed in the article is Donna Beneviento, who operates a terrifying puppet called Angie.
Meanwhile, Capcom recently confirmed that Resident Evil Village is bringing back Mercenaries mode. The fast-paced spin-off mode will see players attempting to quickly beat stages and allow them to upgrade weapons and items between rounds and unlock special abilities. However, this iteration of the Mercenaries mode will be in first-person, a large departure from previous years. It will also feature consecutive stages of play, allowing players to face different enemies and tackle unique challenges.
Up until now, Lady Dimitrescu has dominated the headlines for Resident Evil Village so it is nice to get a first glimpse at some of the other bosses in the game. Whether they will capture the imagination of fans, in the same way, is unclear but each of the Lords certainly looks terrifying and dangerous.
Resident Evil Village comes to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S platforms on May 7.
