The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City's Jen Shah quickly became a fan favorite after ing the franchise in 2020, and there is a lot to know about her. As soon as Jen ed the show, she was quick to give some great one-liners in the heat of the drama. She has undoubtedly brought a lot to the cast, thanks to her steadfast opinions on what a friend should be. However, her recent legal drama has brought her down to the least favorite.
Early on in her RHOSLC days, Jen was caught in a feud with Mary Cosby, who eventually quit after RHOSLC season 2. She also butted heads with Meredith Marks, but the ladies ultimately made up and became close friends. Though her antics on RHOSLC have been fun to watch, Jen's real issues caught up to her in 2023, when she was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison. While Jen may have a hard exterior, she has revealed that inside, she is just a softie who takes her relationships and loyalty very seriously.
Jen Shah's Background
Jen is of Tongan and Hawaiian culture and was the first woman of Polynesian heritage to be cast as a full-time housewife. According to her football coach husband Sharrieff "Coach" Shah in 1994. She itted she often felt out of place living in Salt Lake City since many thought she was African-American, but ultimately chose to stay in her hometown. After marrying Sharrieff, also known as Coach Shah, she converted from Mormonism to Islam. Jen and her husband have two sons, Sharrieff Jr. and Omar.
Jen Shah Was Arrested & Is Facing Prison Time
Prior to her arrest in 2021, Jen was an entrepreneur. She allegedly owned three different companies: JXA Fashion, which was known for its lustrous style and custom dresses, Shah Beauty, which offered a full anti-aging line, and Shah Lashes. Jen originally worked in the corporate world but wanted to branch out into her own businesses. At times, Jen, who should've been fired after RHOSLC season 2, even served as her own model for her photo shoots. Jen has also been politically active, making quite a name for herself when she made a dress out of Joe Biden's campaign signs. While Jen seemed like she was this amazing businesswoman, in 2021, she was charged with conspiracy to commit money laundering and wire fraud and pled not guilty, only to change her plea in mid-2022. In 2023, she was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison with the possibility of parole and will enter a mental health treatment program after prison.
Though she has always been shown to be on the move and willing to put in hard work, Jen will need to take a step back from her life in order for Jen to serve her prison time. While The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star's criminal activity wasn't a shock, the fact that she will be facing a prison sentence is tough to hear. Hopefully, this time away will help Jen realize how her crimes affected people deeply.
