The storyline continues the increase in the villain's power from his promotion as Sorcerer Supreme, to literal domination of the world, as Marvel promises Doom's new mission is going to touch and impact every single corner of its fictional universe... heroes included.
Marvel's New York Comic-Con reveals the new limited series starring Doctor Doom, from Fantastic Four writer Ryan North, and artist R.B. Silva. The also unveiled cover art by Ben Harvey, as well as interior art by Silva, and even confirmed the return of the outstanding 'Dino Doom' variant first seen in last year's Fantastic Four #12. ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM! Six months ago, Doctor Victor Von Doom became Sorcerer Supreme - then disappeared behind Latveria's closed borders. For most, there’s enough going on in the world that Doom's absence is not a priority, and some time without him feels like a blessing. Only a few recognize it for what it truly was... the calm before the storm. It is a storm that has now arrived. The world has woken up to a new reality: Doctor Doom, Earth's Sorcerer Supreme, has magically taken over every broadcast medium on the planet and declared himself Emperor of the World - the ruler of a new United Latveria! And shockingly, impossibly, all of Earth's leaders seem to be going along with this. Luckily, whether it's mind control or Doombots, whatever's affecting them hasn't affected Earth's heroes - and so they quickly form a strike team to stop Doom's machinations. But will they succeed? And what happens when some begin to welcome their new Emperor with open arms, clamoring for One World Under Doom?
What 'The Rise of Emperor Doom' Means For Marvel's Universe
'One World Under Doom' is A New Level of Power For The Fantastic Four Villain
For those Marvel fans marking their calendars, this new announcement means the promised One World Under Doom event has its main series in place, as the five-issue event series The Rise of Emperor Doom will chronicle the villain's further takeover of the entire planet, and subjugation of every nation to a province under his rule. Marvel is promising that North and Silva's series will "take readers behind the mask as they bear witness to the triumphs and trials of Doom’s rule, as well as the foolish attempts to topple it."

Doctor Doom's New Origin Is a Groundbreaking Change Ahead of His MCU Debut
Fantastic Four lore gets a huge change as Marvel fans learn Doctor Doom's new origin, starting with a huge tragedy for Reed Richards.
Ever since debuting as an enemy of the Fantastic Four, the dictator of Latveria has always been positioned among Marvel's upper echelon. He may have not always been viewed as one of Marvel's most physically imposing villains, but he's always been among its most competent villains, so much so that even villains like Kang respect him. This is an entirely new era for Doctor Doom, one that puts him on course to become not only Marvel's most powerful villain, but the Marvel Universe's most powerful character, regardless of hero vs. villain allegiances.
Is Doctor Doom's Hero Path Over?
Or is it Only Just Beginning?
When Doctor Doom first became the Sorcerer Supreme, it was speculated that it could put Doom on course for a surprising hero turn. For many, it could be a safe bet to assume that hero potential is over if he truly becomes Emperor to conquer the planet, but not necessarily. Doctor Doom's path to heroism may just be longer than expected, with a worldwide takeover being a bump in the road. His intentions for world domination could be as pure as those for Latveria, but if Doctor Doom doesn't realize the error of his ways, his hero potential is over.
The Rise of Emperor Doom #1 arrives in February 2025.
