Spoilers for those not caught up on Riverdale

New images offer a sneak peek at the  Primary Colors," she was sent away by her mother to receive conversion therapy.

However, it looks like both ladies will be safe and Cheryl will be home again before too long - as they are both starring in a production of Carrie: The Musical. Cheryl will be playing Carrie White and Alice will be the character's mother Margaret. While there was an earlier photo tease shared by Mädchen Amick, who plays Alice, little else has been revealed about the musical episode. Though since Archie, Betty, Veronica, Josie, Cheryl, and Pussycats Melody and Valerie have showcased their singing skills on the show in numerous other episodes, it's always been likely that most of the main cast would take part in this play-within-a-show.

And now the first real sneak peek is here, courtesy of some photos and additional information from EW. The pictures depict the show's director Kevin Keller working with his assistant Fangs, as well as Archie, Betty, Veronica, Josie, and Cheryl all rehearsing the show. It is indicated that while Cheryl and Alice have the show's two biggest roles, the other four main Riverdale characters seen in the pictures also have big enough parts to be showcased. Several of the other students participating can also be seen, including one person who appears to be Ethel Muggs - at least from behind.

Carrie: The Musical has a bit of an interesting history. Based on the 1974 debut novel by Stephen King, Carrie tells the story of a unpopular girl who comes home from being bullied at high school only to face equally terrible abuse at the hands of her religious zealot of a mother. Eventually she takes bloody revenge, using powerful telekinetic abilities. The book was also been adapted to two movies, in 1976 and 2013 as well as a made-for-TV movie in 2009. When the first musical adaptation came to Broadway in 1988, it became one of the biggest flops in Broadway history, closing in a matter of days. A 2012 off-Broadway revival largely rewrote the musical and improved upon it greatly, turning a former flop into a hit.

It's clear that Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Josie also have big roles that showcase their talents. For Archie, he's playing Tommy Ross. As for the ladies, Betty is playing the role of nice girl Sue Snell, while Veronica is playing cruel bully Chris Hargensen. The rest of the female teenage roles are ensemble, a lot of small one line solos but not really a chance to shine. However, since Alice is the only adult acting in the musical then that leaves a student to play the role of gym teacher Miss Gardner, with Josie portraying the character. It will give her a chance to showcase her vocal skills. Meanwhile, it was already released that Jughead will not be singing, now it's revealed that he will be making a behind-the-scenes documentary about the musical. Knowing the citizens of Riverdale, Jughead is likely to film as much drama happening backstage as onstage.
