While major studios like Lucasfilm, DC, and Marvel Studios did not have s at this year’s Comic-Con, some long-awaited movies and TV shows were part of the event. In fact, despite the lack of s for Marvel, DC, and Star Wars, shows like Ahsoka and Harley Quinn received significant updates. In addition, properties like Invincible, The Boys, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles also released new material at Comic-Con 2023.

25 New Ahsoka Concept Art Images

While Lucasfilm did not have a at San Diego Comic-Con 2023, the Ahsoka series was part of the event. Several new Ahsoka concept art images were displayed at Comic-Con, featuring both locations that had appeared in the first two Ahsoka trailers and new settings. The Ahsoka concept art images revealed a better look at Grand iral Thrawn’s new ship, which has a gold bridge, as well as at the ancient Jedi Temple ruins that Ahsoka Tano is visiting. A New Republic cruiser, a giant scrapyard, and a new location that seems to be Sabine Wren’s house were revealed too.

In addition to the concept art images, Ahsoka’s costumes and props were also displayed at San Diego Comic-Con 2023. Those in attendance could see Ahsoka Tano’s gray costume, which debuted in The Mandalorian season 2 and has received some updates for The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka, up close. Sabine Wren’s Mandalorian helmet, which is a recreation of the helmet she wore in the Star Wars Rebels series finale, was also on display. Sabine Wren’s lightsaber, which belong to Ezra Bridger in Rebels, was there as well. Lastly, Shin Hati’s lightsaber and Inquisitor Marrok’s lightsabers were showcased.

23 Aquaman’s New Costume From Lost Kingdom Revealed

DC Studios may not have been at San Diego Comic-Con 2023, but Aquaman’s new costume for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom was displayed at the event. While Aquaman actor Jason Momoa originally revealed a first look at two new Aquaman costumes in 2021, this orange/gold Aquaman suit displayed at SDCC 2023 is slightly different from that picture. The biggest difference is the separate shoulder pieces, which did not appear in either the Aquaman movie or the Lost Kingdom costume reveal shared by Momoa. Interestingly, Aquaman’s suit originally had shoulder pieces during the costume test for the 2018 Aquaman movie.

A new Gen V poster has been shared during Comic-Con 2023. Gen V is the first live-action The Boys spinoff, and it will follow a set of new characters in a Vought college for supes. The Gen V poster sees Marie Moreau, played by Jaz Sinclair, in front of a Homelander statue. Several The Boys characters will be in Gen V, which will dive into how Vought superheroes are made. A new Gen V trailer will be released on Monday, July 24. Lastly, Gen V premiers on September 29, with the first three episodes dropping at the same time.

21 David Tennant & Ncuti Gatwa's Doctor Who Costumes

David Tennant returns to the Doctor Who franchise as a different incarnation of the Doctor. Tennant will play the Fourteenth Doctor, whose costume was displayed at San Diego Comic-Con 2023. The Fourteenth Doctor will be succeeded by the Fifteenth Doctor, played by Ncuti Gatwa. Gatwa’s Doctor Who costume was also displayed at Comic-Con 2023. Official descriptions for Tennant’s Fourteenth Doctor and Gatwa’s Fifteenth Doctor were also revealed.

A Harley Quinn season 4 trailer premiered during San Diego Comic-Con 2023, offering the best look yet at the newest Harley Quinn season. The Harley Quinn season 4 trailer, which was presented by Harley Quinn herself, sees Harley and Ivy’s new adventures and brings in the Legion of Doom. Characters like Metallo, Grodd, Sinestro, and Livewire will be in Harley Quinn season 4. Returning characters include Lex Luthor, Nightwing, Robin, and the always-delightful Bane. The Harley Quinn trailer also promised that season 4 will have “more sex, more drama, more Bane being Bane, and more Harlivy."

Adventure Time is back, but with a multiversal twist. The Adventure Time: Fiona & Cake trailer premiered during San Diego Comic-Con 2023, revealing an extended look at the Adventure Time spinoff series. Adventure Time: Fiona & Cake will have 10 episodes. The show will follow Fiona and Cake, alternate versions of Jake and Finn, who first appeared in Adventure Time season 3. The Fiona & Cake trailer also teases that the show will be more tied to the “real world” than Adventure Time was, an exciting new spin of the popular animated series that ran for 10 seasons.

A new promotional image for Disney+’s Percy Jackson & the Olympians was unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con 2023. Percy Jackson & the Olympians, Disney+’s adaptation of the popular Rick Riordan novels, is a reboot and is not tied to the Percy Jackson movies. While Percy Jackson & the Olympians’ release date is still relatively far away, this new Percy Jackson & the Olympians image helps build the anticipation by teasing the main trio – Percy (Walker Scobell), Annabeth (Leah Jeffries), and Grover (Aryan Simhadri).

Matthew A. Cherry's Hair Love won an Oscar for Best Animated Short in 2020 and will be revisited in Young Love. The Young Love series will be 2D-animated production that revisits Zuri, her parents Stephen and Angela, and the family's pet Rocky, all of whom originally appeared in Hair Love. The first Young Love clip was released at San Diego Comic-Con 2023, revealing the show’s animation style and teasing its connection to the Academy Award-winner short film.
