Selling Sunset season 8 trailer premiered on August 13, 2024, it teased a lot of drama and scandal between the realtors at the OG. In one storyline, Chelsea's surprise split from her husband, Jeff Lazkani, was revealed, after someone hinted that the duo were done. Co-star Bre Tiesi said that everything would change.

After a stellar start to the season, things started unraveling during episodes 3 and 4, when Chelsea learned about Jeff being caught in a hotel lobby kissing a mystery woman. The revelation led to several confrontations on and off Selling Sunset. There were so many dramatic moments during the season. However, the fallout was even more devastating for Chelsea, who had to confront the reality of losing her seven-year marriage after she filed for divorce. However, Jeff's behavior shows he is not remorseful, and always planned to leave Chelsea.

Jeff Was Seeing Someone Else

For much of the earlier Selling Sunset seasons, Jeff and Chelsea were regarded as one of the show's model couples, primarily due to how ive they were of each other's careers. However, Selling Sunset season 8 thrust the couple into the spotlight after cast Bre and Amanda Lynn heard rumors suggesting Jeff was seen kissing someone, not Chelsea, in a hotel lobby. According to reports, Chelsea had long suspected Jeff was being unfaithful and wanted to catch him in the act. However, what she found out left her devastated and concerned about their children. Although fans didn't get to watch Chelsea confront Jeff during Selling Sunset season 8, the fallout was evident after Chelsea discussed considering the future of her marriage with co-stars Emma Hernan and Chrishell Stause. Chelsea teased their breakup at the end of the season.

After the shocking revelation of Jeff's infidelity in Selling Sunset season 8, it was clear Chelsea had started considering the state of their relationship. Chelsea then threw the future of their marriage up for debate when she removed her wedding ring at the end of the season, saying, "I think this needs to come off." Unsurprisingly, Chelsea backed up her words when she filed for divorce in March 2024. In the filing, Chelsea cited irreconcilable differences as her reason for seeking separation. The estate agent also sought t custody of the pair's two children, Maddox, five, and Melia, 3.

Besides not itting his faults and trying to get his marriage back, Jeff has been trying to paint Chelsea as a destructive and physically aggressive partner.

Meanwhile, in response to Chelsea's divorce filing, Jeff accused Chelsea of being physically aggressive, once striking him in the face, breaking his glasses, and causing a cut. He also accused Chelsea of trying to set him up and catch him in a hostile environment by intentionally starting an altercation and then pulling out her cell phone to record his response (via Stylecaster). After watching Jeff and Chelsea be the perfect couple on Selling Sunset, their divorce proceedings have become messier than expected.

In addition to accusing Chelsea of being violent, Jeff alleged in his court filings that Chelsea had been behaving suspiciously and that some of his belongings on the property had started going missing or being moved somewhere else. Jeff also made a particular request: he wanted exclusive possession of his and Chelsea's home in Manhattan Beach, California. Jeff's tone is entirely defensive after betraying Chelsea's trust, and the embarrassing way she finds out about his infidelity.

Jeff might've claimed Chelsea's divorce filing was unexpected, but his behavior since his infidelity, as revealed on Selling Sunset, shows he had always planned to leave the marriage.

Chelsea is a fighter and she's not going to wallow in self-pity for very long. She didn't become the Queen of Manhattan Beach's real estate scene because she's a timid woman. Online, Chelsea's rallying with a host of sultry posts. Above, she poses in a little black dress while telling the world that she'll "always win." However, there's this sense of misery under the surface - of grief she's still grappling with. She lost the person she wanted to be with forever. That's not something a person will recover from overnight.

She shouldn't have to. Society puts pressure on people to bounce back in an instant, but inner worlds can be dark places. People need time to recover from trauma. In Chelsea's case, although her husband has accused her of domestic violence, and she believes he's a cheater, her heartbreak is all too real. A ionate romance filled with love can become poisoned by doubts, leading to betrayals that cast long shadows and leave psychological scars.

Chelsea is mature - she's a mother. She has children to love and protect. That's why, although she carries so much sadness, she will persevere. Kids need mothers who will do everything that can to provide loving homes. As long as Chelsea focuses on her children, who adore her, she will be okay, and she'll stay on the right track. She has a fulfilling career, sweet kids, money and a bright future ahead. Her talent as a realtor is something the Selling Sunset star can use to build herself up when life gets hard.
