In an interview with And Just Like That... “I was never asked to be part of the reboot. I made my feelings clear after the possible third movie, so I found out about it like everyone else did — on social media," she said.

Hearing this made fans of the original series all of the good times the characters had before there was a divide with the actresses. Some of the best moments in Sex and the City were when the women gathered for brunch, cocktails, or dinner. It was a chance to come together and confide in one another about the workweek and relationship problems.

Takeout & Girl Chat

Samantha tells Miranda she loves the way she looks on Sex and the City

The first season (especially the first episode) differed from the rest of Sex and the City. Carrie broke the fourth wall and talked to the camera, there were interviews with people on the street for Carrie's article, and the women dressed more relatable than the beloved outfits they wore in later seasons.

Instead of going out to dinner and ordering martinis, the women gathered at Carrie's apartment in one episode, where they ordered Chinese takeout and drank wine. What made this such a great dinner was how low-key and comfortable it was. Wearing cozy clothes and flipping through magazines, the women were present and genuinely having a good time.

The Final Farewell

In the final season, Carrie was ready to leave New York for a new life in Paris with her boyfriend Aleksandr. The girls had one final dinner and it was an emotional one for everyone. Carrie asked the hypothetical question of what would have happened in her life if she never met Charlotte, Miranda, and Samantha, and it made everyone cry.

Samantha tried making the dinner fun again by making jokes about her time with cancer, but it only made the group realize how much they would miss being together.

The Introduction Of Smith Jerrod

Smith Jerrod and Samantha’s relationship timeline was more serious and long-lasting. The two met at a restaurant while the women were at dinner and he was their waiter. Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte all knew Samantha had feelings for Smith and let her flirt with him as they watched on and giggled.

The next night, Samantha ditched the ladies and went to dinner solo in hopes of taking Smith home. It was a long evening with one too many entrees but her plan succeeded, and they started dating shortly after.

The Honeymoon That Never Was

Although this scene wasn’t in the original series, it was in the first movie. After Big left Carrie at the altar, the women went on Carrie’s honeymoon to Mexico with her. Carrie laid in bed for days until she had the strength to go to dinner with the girls.

At dinner after a few margaritas, the women drunkenly talked about the wedding that never was and all the ways men screwed them. Miranda talked about Steve and Samantha mentioned that she needed more from her relationship with Smith... The dinner was a serious one but one of depth.

Literal Bedside Manner

Miranda found a new boyfriend in a place she never expected to meet one: in line at Weight Watchers. Aside from the desire to lose weight, Miranda and Tom had a lot in common. There was just one problem: he didn’t have the best bedside manner after sleeping together. If the women put aside this small problem area, Tom was one of Miranda's best boyfriends.

At brunch, Miranda asked her friends how to handle the situation because she didn’t want to be rude to Tom while naked and vulnerable. However, the conversation took a turn when Carrie mentioned walking into Samantha’s office and finding her in a compromising position with the World Wide Express guy...

From Single To Soulmate

In this episode, Carrie was annoyed when she got a letter in the mail, urging her to a dating network for singles in the city. She was annoyed by the invite because it was yet another reminder that she was single. She talked about this pressure at brunch and it sparked a fun conversation.

At the end of the episode, Carrie and the girls did not find their soulmates but Charlotte raised a sweet question (and one of the best quotes about friendship) for her best friends: “Maybe we can be each other’s soulmates?” It was one of the most endearing scenes in the series.

The Rooftop BBQ

Sex and the City Carrie Charlotte Miranda and Sam

Fans of Sex and the City wondered where the main characters lived around New York City and ‘Cock-a-Doodle-Do’ explained it perfectly. The episode was all about loud neighbors. Samantha was bothered by the sex workers laughing too loudly outside of her window, and Carrie was bothered by the rooftop roosters waking her up every morning.

In the end, the women ed the noise and threw a rooftop BBQ for friends and neighbors. With Samantha grilling hot dogs and alcoholic “flirt-tinis” being served, the women had the best summer evening in New York.

Braces & Mama's Boys

‘Hot Child in the City' was a fun episode because Carrie did something unpredictable: she continued dating a younger man (Wade) who lived with his parents. While at lunch, Carrie told Samantha all about her younger lover but Samantha wasn’t impressed. She couldn’t get ed that Carrie’s new boyfriend was a mama's boy and the only man she would date who lived with his parents was Prince William. Wade wasn't the most likable ex of Carrie's but he had good intentions.

If that moment wasn’t funny enough, Miranda showed up late to lunch because she got braces. Between the mama's boy and the braces, this episode was all about youth.

The Post-It Breakup

Fans of Carrie and Berger shouldn't watch the episode 'The Post-It Always Sticks Twice.' Carrie and Berger had their ups and downs but after a brief breakup, they finally hit a good stride… that is until Carrie woke up with a Post-It note on her pillow that said “I'm sorry, I can't. Don't hate me.” In the briefest way possible, Carrie was dumped via Post-It.

At brunch, Carrie wasn’t the only one with news. Charlotte told everyone that she and Harry got back together and were engaged. The contrast between engagements and breakups was what made this brunch scene one of the best.

Shoe Etiquette & Babies

Knowing how much Carrie loved her high-end shoes, she was beside herself when a pair was stolen at a child’s birthday party. The host of the party asked that all shoes were left at the door, but it didn’t end well for Carrie when a thief made out with her new shoes.

Considering her heels cost almost $500, she wanted her friend to pay her back for the lost shoes. At brunch, the women talked about parents with children in the city. This brought one of Samantha’s funniest quotes: “I am so sick of these people with their children.” The women inspired Carrie to reach out to her friend to ask for a new pair of shoes, and that's exactly what happened.
