Shonen Jump's Newest Mega-Hit is Essentially a Western Action Movie in the Best Way Possible

The creator of Kagurabachi has revealed that he was inspired by Western mega-hit films and that he takes a lot from them when writing the manga.

Shonen Jump Has Its Eyes Set On the Success Of Kagurabachi

Written and Illustrated by Takeru Hokazono

With My Hero Academia entering its epilogue, Jujutsu Kaisen ending in 2024, and One Piece in its final saga, Shonen Jump desperately needs a new series that will replace these giants. They launched the NEXTWAVE Initiative, debuting three series, but only Kagurabachi survived being canceled. It was action-packed, with dynamic ing, choreography, and cinema-level composition that made people unable to stop reading.

The stats also back up Shueisha's hopes for Kagurabachi. It is selling just as much as Jujutsu Kaisen and Blue Lock when they were starting out, garnered a huge fanbase overseas, and with the Japanese fanbase also growing. Furthermore, sales are steadily increasing and Kagurabachi will supplement the growth even further. Very few series start out with such huge overseas attention, and although it started out as a meme, it is such a legit successor to Hokazono's idols, like Naruto.
