With Family Guy, The Simpsons, and Bob's Burgers being 3 of FOX's most successful animated sitcoms, each series have crossed paths prior to the series in a variety of ways. Family Guy and The Simpsons crossed over in the former's season 14 episode "The Simpsons Guy", where the Griffins family find themselves staying with the Simpsons after their car breaks down. While things start promising between each family member, violent revenge, patent infringement lawsuits, and a long, surreal fight between Peter and Homer prove too much for their budding relationship, with each family agreeing to part ways.

The Simpsons made a surprising detour into the world of Bob's Burgers as part of season 34's "Tree House of Horror XXXIII". In The Simpsons and Bob's Burgers crossover scene, Springfield's most famous family is on the run after learning that they are self-aware androids from a Westworld-inspired amusement park and having taken part in a violent escape. After escaping The Simpsons-themed park, Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie stop at another theme park based on Bob's Burgers, with Linda Belcher (John Roberts) serving the family menus as the segment of the Halloween special closes.

With each show being mainstays of FOX's animated line-up for many years, Family Guy's surprising The Simpsons and Bob's Burgers crossover is sure to bring a smile to longtime animation viewers. And though it is only part of a brief gag, the scene offers viewers a rare moment to see three of animation's most recognizable dads share the screen.
