The next expansion pack for The Sims 4 was just announced by EA and will be titled Cottage Living, allowing players to transport their Sims characters to a small countryside town where they'll be able to live almost entirely off of the land. Several gameplay changes and new items will be introduced as part of the expansion pack when it releases in about a month.
EA revealed that the Cottage Living expansion pack will release on July 22 for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The pack is available to preorder now, and players who purchase it before September 2 will be treated to the Gnome on the Go digital content pack, which brings a few additional items into Cottage Living. This is the 11th expansion pack to be released for The Sims 4 since the game first dropped in 2014, and it doesn't seem like the new content updates will be slowing down any time soon.
The announcement came after several cryptic hints towards the new Sims 4 expansion, so fans have been speculating for quite a while about what the newest pack will add to the game. Farming, gardening revamps, and even fairies have been suggested as possible additions. It looks like Cottage Living will provide players with at least some of these highly-requested items, but there are also several other features coming as part of the pack's release. Cottage Living Additions - Farm Animals In Sims 4
Cows, llamas, chickens, bunnies and foxes will all be introduced in Cottage Living, along with some new gameplay to accompany them. Wild animals can bring gifts or even help out in the garden, and players can gather milk, eggs and wool from their farm animals. The Animal Enthusiast trait will also have some bearing on interaction opportunities, and a Sim's relationship with an animal will impact how they respond to them.
Cottage Living Additions - Gardening Updates In Sims 4
When The Sims 4 began hinting at a countryside expansion pack, many players were hoping for new farming mechanics or an overhaul of the gardening feature. Cottage Living provides that, giving players new gardening patches that produce oversized crops which can be entered into fairs. The expansion pack also changes some aspects of cooking. The Simple Living Lot Challenge lets players create recipes based only on what's in their inventory, adding in a new level of difficulty.
Cottage Living Additions - Henford-on-Bagley In Sims 4
There are multiple different worlds in The Sims 4, and most expansion packs for the game add in additional areas for players to explore. Cottage Living's new world is named Henford-on-Bagley, and it seems like it will be more interactive than many other Sims 4 cities. Players will be able to run errands for residents, and can participate in the town's weekly fair by participating in everything from vegetable to animal competitions. With so many new structures to visit and characters to meet, Sims 4 fans should have plenty of fun content to enjoy once Cottage Living is officially released.
