He added Janelle Brown in 1993, Christine Brown in 1994, and Robyn Brown in 2010 to his family. Kody's first child, Logan Taylor, was born to him and Janelle in 1994, followed by Aspyn and Leon to Christine and Meri the following year. Over time, Kody welcomed 12 more children and also adopted three of Robyn's children from her previous marriage.

Initially, Kody cared for all his children with love, doing his best to his first three wives in raising their 13 children. Unfortunately, his behavior changed after marrying Robyn. Kody became overly obsessed and focused on her, neglecting his responsibilities to his other three wives. Kody also hasn't made a lot of effort to showcase his care for his son. Kody has caused Paedon to despise him by mistreating his mother, Christine. Their feud intensified when Kody, as the Brown family patriarch, implemented strict rules and restrictions for his entire family during COVID-19.

Recently, Kody hurt Mykelti Brown by allowing his adopted daughter, Aurora Alice, to get her ears pierced before she turned 18. Mykelti said the situation upset her because Kody didn't let her do the same. She mentioned he never went with any of his daughters to get their ears pierced. Kody also had a feud with Mykelti when she ed her mother, Christine, during her divorce.

Kody hasn't ed many of his children, including Leon. He chose not to attend Ysabel's surgery during the pandemic, showing selfishness. According to Janelle (via TLC), Kody's biggest parenting issue is his inability to relate to his older kids. She previously shared that the Sister Wives star is much better at being a father to younger children.
