Warning: Spoilers for Sentry #4!A new hero in the Marvel Universe named Solarus is ready to claim the Sentry has often been seen as Marvel's version of Superman. Partly due to failing to maintain his dark half, known as the Void, the Sentry's status as "hero" within the Marvel Universe became questionable before he died.
Now, Sentry has officially been replaced by Solarus as of Sentry #4 by Jason Loo, Luigi Zagaria, Arthur Hesli, and VC's Joe Caramagna. In a series where numerous mild-mannered citizens suddenly find themselves competing to become the new Sentry, only one stands tall once the dust settles.
As the last Sentry standing, Mallory Gibbs becomes Solarus and her ceiling as a hero is limitless as she receives training from Misty Knight. Perhaps in adopting a former Avenger's powers to become Marvel's strongest hero, an Avengers run lies in Solarus' future.

King of Black: Marvel's Most Powerful Hero's Death Is Even Darker
After being brutally killed by the King in Black, Sentry is guided to Valhalla, but before he arrives, things get even darker.
Solarus, Marvel's Newest Hero, Explained
Thanks to Dr. Strange's spell to destroy a reanimated Sentry, several everyday citizens wake up one day gifted with the abilities of the late Bob Reynolds. Among those lucky civilians is investigative journalist Mallory Gibbs, the closest the story has to a primary protagonist. An average day turns catastrophic when her powers manifest, and without knowing how to use them, she accidentally collapses her apartment building. Mortified of the damage she's done, she flees Earth, retreating to the moon where she can't hurt anyone. Unfortunately, Ryan Topper - another Sentry citizen - has no problem hurting anyone, including killing others for their powers.
When the teenage sociopath starts causing global unrest, especially after being denied an Avengers hip, Mallory decides it's her responsibility to stop him herself. With the help of the spirits of the other Sentries that Ryan murdered, Mallory puts a permanent end to the wannabe Sentry. She turns herself into the Aberrant Crimes Division in hopes of containing her powers, but rather than be punished, Mallory is placed under the training supervision of Misty Knight. Ready to carve a new path for herself with Sentry's powers, she adopts the name Solarus.
Solarus' Hero Potential in the Marvel Universe is Limitless
She already understands the fundamentals of being a superhero well before she begins her first official mission as Solarus
Beyond just wielding great power, Mallory understands the responsibility it takes to use it, a combination that has shaped some of Marvel's best heroes. Mallory says in Sentry #4 that when the evil Void didn't influence him, "Robert Reynolds really tried to be a good, honorable hero." She already understands the fundamentals of being a superhero well before she begins her first official mission as Solarus. As she continues to learn the mechanics of heroism, that understanding will only improve with time, especially as she's training under Misty Knight.
Misty Knight has already been on the course of a career-defining run in Marvel, coming off the heels of like Miles Morales' Spider-Man under her wing. Solarus is her latest mentee, who instantly gets elevated as a hero just by being next to Misty. Keep an eye on Solarus' future as she's already on her way to suring the Sentry and becoming Marvel's next Avenger.
