Solo Leveling has quickly become one of the most popular new anime series around, and the Hunters of the series play a huge role in the series' success as a whole. Out of all the Hunters in the series, there are few stronger than those considered "S-Rank". Solo Leveling includes a ranking system to symbolize just how strong the characters are, starting at E-Rank and including D-Rank, C-Rank, B-Rank, A-Rank, and finally, S-Rank.

While there are National Level Hunters above S-Ranks, these Hunters were considered S-Rank before the National Level was created. There are Hunters from all over the world in Solo Leveling, and while some countries are lucky to have a few S-Ranks (like Korea with Hunters like Cha Hae-In, Baek Yoonho, and more), there are several countries in the series happy to have their own S-Rank Hunters. The strongest S-Rank Hunters can be hard to rank, but the series leaves some clues as to who is truly the strongest of them all.

9 Yuri Orloff (Russia)

Russia's Strongest Hunter Is An Expert In Barrier Magic

Yuri Orloff is the only Hunter from Russia that is featured in Solo Leveling. In the Solo Leveling manhwa, Yuri Orloff is seen as an arrogant, greedy character who takes advantage of the situation in Japan for his own financial benefit. What he lacks in moral fortitude he makes up for in magic, however, as Orloff might be Solo Leveling in of creating barriers.

When a massive S-Rank Gate appears in Japan, the Japanese government needs help desperately. Most of their strongest Hunters died during the Fourth Jeju Island Raid, including their absolute strongest, Goto Ryuji. They hired Orloff to create one of his famous barriers in front of the S-Rank Gate so that he could stop whatever monster decided to come through.

Unfortunately for both Japan and Yuri Orloff, the Giants that came through are some of the strongest enemies in the series. They destroyed his barrier with a single attack, killing Orloff soon thereafter.

8 Goto Ryuji (Japan)

Japan's Strongest Hunter Was No Match For The Ant King

Goto Ryuji is referred to as a higher-end S-Rank Hunter. The S-Rank is filled with Hunters are different power levels, and Goto Ryuji is the perfect example of an S-Rank Hunter stronger than his fellow S-Rankers. He's the strongest Hunter in Japan by some margin, leading their strongest Guild with confidence.

Ryuji's strength was put on full display in his fight against Sung Jinwoo before the Fourth Jeju Island Raid. The Japanese Hunters by and large were stronger than their Korean counterparts, but Sung Jinwoo stood out from his compatriots. Ryuji wanted to test Jinwoo, and their fight showed just how much stronger the two Hunters were than everyone around them.

While the anime made a lot of changes from the manhwa, Jinwoo's fight with Ryuji is mostly the same. Jinwoo not only keeps up with someone who is supposedly stronger than him, but shows that he might be stronger at the same time.

7 Jay Mills (Canada)

Canada's Strongest Hunter Is Ranked 17th In The World

Not much is known about Canada's strongest Hunter, Jay Mills. The Solo Leveling manhwa states that Mills is the 17th strongest Hunter in the world, and he's one of the few in the top 20 that actually features in the series. Like Yuri Orloff, the few times that Jay Mills is featured he's shown as an arrogant, prideful man who doesn't think that anything can stop him.

Solo Leveling is an amazing manhwa anime adaptation, but there's one manhwa series that could make an even better anime and studios need to take note.

Jay Mills died as quickly as he was introduced. Sung Jinwoo warned the world about the powers of the Monarchs and their arrival on Earth. Mills dismissed Jinwoo, claiming that there wasn't a force out there that could stop him.

When a massive gate appeared over North America, Jay Mills went to defend his homeland. Antares, the Monarch of Destruction and one of the strongest villains in Solo Leveling, asked to find the king of the humans. Mills arrogantly answered that he was king, and before he could even Antares' attack, he was dead in an instant.

6 Lennart Niermann ()

's Strongest Hunter Is Ranked 12th In The World

Out of all the S-Rank Hunters in Solo Leveling, none are as humble and likable as Lennart Niermann. 's strongest Hunter is ranked as the 12th strongest in the world. He's also the guild master of the Richter Guild, the strongest guild in his home country.

Despite all of these high accolades, Niermann is one of the most selfless characters in the series. Towards the end of Solo Leveling, he's one of the few Hunters to take Sung Jinwoo's warning seriously. He heads to South Korea to ask Jinwoo for protection.

Though Jinwoo is focused on his mission, the women around him are hinting at a growing romance that might change his perspective in Solo Leveling.

When the Monarchs arrive, Niermann selflessly defends Thomas Andre even though all Niermann can do is move the Monarchs back without inflicting any real damage to them. He even waited in Jinwoo's office for over two hours just to talk to the Second Shadow Monarch, and when push came to shove, Niermann dove right into battle like he needed to.

5 Jonas (Brazil)

Brazil's Strongest Hunter Is Ranked 6th In The World

Solo Leveling Jonas headshot

There is almost no information about Jonas, Brazil's strongest Hunter in Solo Leveling. The only information about the Hunter is a single image, the fact that he's the strongest Hunter in Brazil and the 6th highest rank in the world, and that he was assassinated by the Monarchs.

He was supposed to attend the International Guild Conference as Brazil's representative, but the Monarchs got to him before he could travel. He was one of the only characters who was a vessel of a Ruler that wasn't considered to be National Level.

To be considered National Level in Solo Leveling, a Hunter needs to clear an S-Rank Gate, and before Jeju Island, there was only one S-Rank Gate in the series. Jonas wasn't part of it, but with his Ruler powers, he certainly could be considered one of Solo Leveling.

4 Siddharth Bachchan (India)

One Of The Five National Level Hunters In Solo Leveling

Solo Leveling Season 2 Episode 10 Korean S-Rank Hunters arriving at Jeju Island

While there is little information about Jonas, there is even less about Siddharth Bachchan. The only information about the mysterious Hunter is that he's the strongest Hunter in India, ranked as the 4th strongest in the world, and that he's one of the first five National Level Hunters in Solo Leveling.

Siddharth Bachchan was one of the five Hunters to defeat Kamish, the S-Rank Dungeon boss who was strong enough to destroy most of America. Liu Zhigang, his fellow National Level Hunter, described Bachchan as a man who would put others above himself consistently.

Solo Leveling has many powerful and amazing characters, but some of the strongest are the S-rank hunters, but even they are not all at the same level.

Like Jonas, he never got to have a proper introduction to the series because the Monarchs killed him before he could play a role in it. Siddharth Bachchan was another vessel of the Rulers, able to use abilities like Ruler's Authority and Spiritual Body Manifestation to greatly increase his power.

3 Liu Zhigang (China)

China's 7-Star Hunter

Liu Zhigang is one of the most exciting Hunters in Solo Leveling. He's a mysterious character who got his introduction towards the end of the second season of the Solo Leveling anime. The first time Liu Zhigang is shown on-screen is thrilling to say the least.

After the Fourth Jeju Island Raid, China has lined up a litany of battleships to deal with the Ants that might come their way. Instead of firing off a barrage of missiles and attacks, the Chinese fleet left it to their strongest Hunter to take care of the situation.

Liu Zhigang then launches a single attack at the oncoming Ants, destroying thousands without much of an effort. It's an amazing display of strength that shows why he's ranked as the 2nd strongest Hunter in the world. Later in the series, he's one of the few characters that can take down the Giants too, impressively killing one by himself.

2 Thomas Andre (The United States of America)

The Top Ranked Hunter In Solo Leveling

For most of Solo Leveling, Thomas Andre is the strongest Hunter in the entire series. He's ranked as the number one Hunter in the entire world, and it's pretty easy to see why. Thomas Andre is a beast. He's also the vessel of the Rulers, granting him yet another level of absurd strength.

Thomas Andre is the strongest Hunter in America, a country that also has Christopher Reed, the third highest-ranking Hunter in Solo Leveling. Andre is also the Guild Master of the Scavenger Guild, arguably the strongest guild in the entire series.

His fight with Sung Jinwoo is one of the best fights in the entire series. It's one of the few fights that actually pushes Sung Jinwoo to his limit, showing that Thomas Andre has well and truly earned his right to be called the strongest Hunter in the entire world.

1 Sung Jinwoo (South Korea)

The Strongest Hunter In The World

South Korea is lucky enough to call itself home to some of the strongest Hunters in the entire series. Cha Hae-In, Baek Yoonho, Choi Jong-In, Go Gunhee, and Sung Il-Hwan are all ridiculously strong in their own right, but out of every Hunter in the entire country, there is no Hunter as strong as Sung Jinwoo.

Towards the end of Solo Leveling, Sung Jinwoo is so strong that he can hardly be considered a Hunter. He's closer to a divine figure than a mortal, and as the Second Shadow Monarch, he quite literally is. Sung Jinwoo's strongest ability might not even be in his absurd strength or intellect.

Sung Jinwoo's abilities are extensive to say the least. His strongest might be his ability to command the dead. After killing an enemy, he can add them to his ever-growing Shadow Army, creating an immortal solider out of someone who was once his enemy.
