New cast of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 consists of familiar faces from the franchise's history, with Sonic (Ben Schwartz), Tails (Colleen O'Shaughnessey), and Knuckles (Idris Elba) leading the fight against Shadow (Keanu Reeves). Now, Paramount Pictures has revealed new posters for characters in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, which confirm that Shemar Moore's Randall Handel will be coming back in the sequel. Originally Rachel's (Natasha Rothwell) fiancé, he was revealed to be a GUN agent only marrying her to capture Sonic for the agency. GUN’s Role In The Story Will Be Major

The Criminal Minds and S.W.A.T. star’s return to the franchise emphasizes how Sonic the Hedgehog 3’s story will have a major focus on GUN and their attempts to hunt down Shadow. In the film’s first trailer, it’s revealed the agency is recruiting Sonic and his friends to track down and capture the Ultimate Lifeform. This could involve them working closely with Randall, a twist on their relationship in the second movie when he was responsible for Sonic and Tails’ capture. However, it's unclear how much they can trust him and the organization as a whole.

The posters also show Rachel in a GUN uniform, potentially hinting at her needing to infiltrate the organization later in the film.
