In a new interview with new updates on Spider-Man 4, as filming has still not started. While he couldn't offer any spoilers or production start dates, Holland shared his excitement about being involved with Spider-Man 4 from a creative standpoint, stating the following:
The simple answer is that I’ll always want to do Spider-Man films. I owe my life and career to Spider-Man. So the simple answer is yes. I’ll always want to do more. We have the best in the business working toward whatever the story might be. But until we’ve cracked it, we have a legacy to protect. The third movie was so special in so many ways that we need to make sure we do the right thing. This is the first time in this process that I’ve been part of the creative so early. It’s just a process where I’m watching and learning. It’s just a really fun stage for me. Like I said, everyone wants it to happen. But we want to make sure we’re not overdoing the same things.

10 Marvel Villains Perfect For A Street-Level MCU Spider-Man 4 Movie
No Way Home set up a personal, street-level story for Tom Holland's Spider-Man 4, and some Marvel Comics villains would be great for the movie.
How Spider-Man 4's Plot Can Fit Into The MCU's Current Story
While Spider-Man 4 doesn't have an announced writer or director, there has been a lot of discussion about how the next installment should lean more into the street-level elements of the web-crawler's mythology. Throughout his first trilogy of stories, Peter had to deal with aliens, multiverse variants, and having to make the whole world forget who Peter is, in order to prevent other villains crossing into this world from various universes. Spider-Man 4 would benefit from scaling back and elevate the "Neighborhood" part of his infamous "Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" identity.
Kevin Feige has made it clear that Spider-Man and Daredevil will be the central heroes to lead the street heroes of the MCU, as Charlie Cox is set to have a big role again in the franchise through the Daredevil: Born Again TV show. Given their dynamic in the comics, Spider-Man 4 could focus on Peter finally getting to know his fellow street crime fighters in New York, especially Daredevil. This would also be a natural setup to have Spider-Man finally face off with Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, especially as the Daredevil veteran has expressed wanting to fight Holland's MCU hero multiple times.
With Jon Bernthal also coming back as The Punisher, Spider-Man 4 could also act as a secret reset of sorts for The Defenders, and bring a lot of the other Marvel-Netflix heroes back into the fold. Now that Peter has had a chance to explore different dynamics with the Avengers, the street-level heroes would also add a lot of story potential, as Holland's character is now on his own for at least the time being. Hopefully, more news on Spider-Man 4 will emerge in the coming months.
