Game Informer's October cover, which focuses on Insomniac's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, features artwork from the character's co-creator Sara Pichelli. The stand-alone title, a follow-up to 2018's Marvel's Spider-Man, will focus on the newly-empowered young hero Miles Morales as he learns how to be a superhero. Miles, who has grown exponentially in popularity since his debut in the 2011 comic storyline Ultimate Fallout, also played a ing role in Insomniac's previous title.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales was recently revealed as a Many alternate costumes, which were also extremely plentiful in the previous title, have been teased for the game. These suits will likely draw from popular incarnations of Miles such as comic books and the film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Now, Game Informer has revealed that its October issue, which focuses on Spider-Man: Miles Morales, will sport a cover drawn by illustrator Sara Pichelli. Pichelli is the co-creator of the Miles Morales character, having illustrated the very first appearance of Miles as Spider-Man in 2011's Ultimate Fallout. The cover depicts Miles, wearing all but his mask, swinging through his new neighborhood of Harlem. The bustling streets of New York are beautifully depicted as snow fills the air, holiday decorations hang from every street corner and Spider-Man graffiti adorns the wall of a nearby building.
As noted in Game Informer's cover reveal article, Marvel's Spider-Man also received a professionally drawn cover back in 2018. exceptionally similar box art.
While Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be a smaller spin-off of Marvel's Spider-Man, Insomniac appears to be taking the project very seriously. Rather than being treated as an afterthought, the game is being given the same care and attention that went into making its predecessor. With Miles Morales having much less history than Peter Parker, fans are excited to see the younger Spider-Man getting some exposure.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be available on PS4 and PS5 on November 12.
