Spider-Man: No Way Home is set to bring elements of older Spider-Man continuities into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so how would the Spider-Man Rotten Tomatoes scores compare if they were also in the MCU? The MCU has a nearly flawless track record in Rotten Tomatoes, but there've been some hits and some misses when it comes to live-action Spider-Man, so how well do they stack up?
Until Eternals, the MCU had never seen a movie earn a Rotten review through 25 releases. While Eternals' Rotten Tomatoes score means the franchise no longer has a flawless track record with the Tomatometer, the franchise average is still more than impressive.
Obviously, two Spider-Man movies are already in the MCU, but if we compare the average of all the Spider-Man movies to the Rottem Tomatoes average of all the MCU movies (excluding the MCU Spider-Man films), the MCU comes out on top with an 83 percent average over the 70 percent average of all the Spider-Man films; However, the MCU's Jon Watts Spider-Man movies with Tom Holland beat that average with 91 percent. The Raimi trilogy with Tobey Maguire average just a hair lower at 82 percent, but if we take a look at average review scores instead of the Tomatometer, the Raimi trilogy average is 7.37 out of 10, while the MCU average is 7.18 out of 10. If every Spider-Man movie were in the MCU, four out of the top 11 movies would be Spider-Man solo movies.
While the Holland and Maguire beat out the MCU, depending on how you slice it, the Marc Webb Amazing Spider-Man movies with Andrew Garfield are, unfortunately, not nearly as comparable in Rotten Tomatoes. The average review score of 55 percent score of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 places it at the bottom of the MCU ranking, just above Eternals while The Amazing Spider-Man's 72 percent Fresh score is just good enough to tie with Iron Man, which is currently the 4th lowest score in the MCU.
Fortunately, being among the MCU's worst is not actually the worst place to be, considering the positive reception they've all seen. Overall, every Spicer-Man Rotten Tomatoes score should feel at home alongside the MCU, and given Spider-Man: No Way Home is introducing a sort of live-action Spider-Verse with multiple villains from past continuities (and maybe more), maybe those movies will all feel like a part of the MCU at some point.
