Newly unveiled Spider-Man: No Way Home concept art reveals Tom Holland in Spider-Man's Black Suit and makes a Venom crossover essential. 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home was the most ambitious Spider-Man movie to date, with the film uniting the three generations of live-action Spider-Man movies, bringing together Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Holland's Spider-Men. While the film presented many exciting reveals, some of them were left in the planning stage.
Spider-Man: No Way Home art revealed by the Spider-Man: No Way Home - The Art of the Movie book (via @SpiderMan3news), which was released August 1, shows the first look at what the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man could have looked like in the hero's iconic Symbiote Suit.
Three concept art pieces depict Holland's Spider-Man in variations of the character's Black Suit. All the images picture the hero in a black version of his traditional MCU suit design, with the variations coming from the color of the spider in his chest, which comes in tan, red, and white.
How Spider-Man: No Way Home Set Up Venom In The MCU
Spider-Man: No Way Home did not see Holland's Peter Parker don Spider-Man's iconic Symbiote Suit, but the movie did lay the groundwork for that to happen in the future. First, Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock arrived in the MCU during Venom: Let There Be Carnage's post-credits scene. Then, the character was sent back to his world in Spider-Man: No Way Home's post-credits scene, but not without a piece of the Venom Symbiote staying behind in the MCU.
While Holland's Spider-Man and Hardy's Venom did not meet each other in the little time the anti-hero was in the MCU, the path is set for the two to interact in a future movie — set in the MCU or on Sony's Spider-Man Universe — as Holland's Peter Parker gets attached to the piece of the Symbiote that was left behind in the MCU, which should alert Hardy's Venom.
It has been revealed that all the Symbiotes share a hive mind, and because of that, whenever Holland's Spider-Man bonds with the piece of Venom in the MCU, Hardy's character will come to know it, prompting the duo to finally meet. While Spider-Man: No Way Home kept the Symbiote Suit in the planning stage, it is inevitably going to make its way into the MCU. In the comics, the Spider-Man first encountered the suit in the event that inspired 2027's Avengers: Secret Wars, so perhaps it could debut in that movie, with Hardy also appearing as Venom thanks to the multiverse, paying off Spider-Man: No Way Home's tease.
