Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Andor season 2I think I've figured out the best ending for Dedra in the aftermath of Star Wars story fully ends.

As seen in Andor season 2, Dedra was recruited by Director Krennic to oversee the Empire's Ghorman initiative, a mass manipulation and resulting genocide that would allow the Empire to begin brutally mining the planet's resources for the classified Death Star project. However, Dedra never fully gave up on her vendetta to one day capture and bring "Axis" into custody. While Dedra's vendetta in Andor season 2 ultimately leads to her downfall by the series' end, I do think there's an additional chapter to her story that's wonderfully full of poetic justice.

Dedra in Prison in Andor Season 2-1

In the aftermath of the Ghorman Massacre, Dedra inadvertently received classified files regarding the Death Star project. However, she kept the oversight to herself as the files aided in her quest to track down Axis. Unfortunately for Dedra, Luthen's mole within the ISB stole her access codes and shared the intel about the Death Star with Luthen. This is what first alerted the Rebel Alliance to the construction of the Empire's hidden super weapon (a truth Cassian Andor later corroborates at the beginning of Rogue One).

Paired with the fact that Luthen killed himself after Dedra chose to confront him by herself, Dedra was taken into custody by the ISB. At worst, it certainly looked like Dedra herself was a Rebel. At best, Dedra was incompetent as she had chosen to arrogantly break multiple protocols, which resulted in a critical intelligence leak. Despite her intentions to serve the Empire and its galactic order, Dedra's failure landed her in an Imperial prison facility, not unlike the one Cassian Andor was in on Narkina 5.

Four Years Later, Dedra Will Likely Discover The Truth of Luthen's Words

"A Whole Galaxy Waiting To Disgust You"

Before Luthen mortally wounds himself and Kleya ensures his death by the end of Andor season 2, episode 10, the man who helped lay the groundwork for the entire Rebel Alliance tells Dedra that the rebellion has moved on from Coruscant and is now everywhere: "There's a whole galaxy out there, waiting to disgust you." Sure enough, one can imagine that Luthen's words more than come true for Dedra, even if she misses the entire Galactic Civil War due to her imprisonment.

Andor is Star Wars’ best TV show and has 24 total episodes across two seasons. Here is how each one ranks against the others, from “worst” to best.

1

Four years after the events of Andor season 2, the Galactic Civil War ends, the Empire is shattered, and the nascent New Republic government is working to re-establish freedom and democracy to the galaxy. This also includes the presumed release of all those the Empire locked away, perhaps including Dedra herself. As such, it's pretty satisfying to think about Dedra Meero reentering galactic life, only to find that the system she once served is no more (Emperor, two Death Stars, and all).

Would She Try And The Imperial Remnant?

Although the Empire ultimately turned its back on her, Dedra was nevertheless an Imperial. With that in mind, she might have been sent to the New Republic Amnesty Program, first seen in The Mandalorian season 3. However, it was shown that the program had its share of loyalists, as well as moles working for the Imperial Remnant.

Assuming Dedra is indeed "disgusted by the galaxy" when and if she's freed from her imprisonment, it's not hard to imagine Meero ing some faction of the Remnant during the New Republic Era. It would be cool to perhaps see a new appearance from the former ISB Supervisor in Star Wars' various New Republic shows. Regardless, Dedra simply discovering the truth of Luthen's words feels like her perfect fate, regardless of what her Star Wars future may or may not hold.
