Lucasfilm has finally released the Star Wars TV show. Tony Gilroy's Andor is widely viewed as the best Star Wars TV show to date, and season 2 is eagerly anticipated. This will be very different, with the twelve episodes split into four quarters, each of which is set in a different year in the buildup to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Diego Luna's Cassian Andor is returning as the main character, but he's not the only one.
The Andor season 2 trailer hints at some dramatic key moments in the story. It features a glimpse of the iconic Yavin 4 temples, the first time they've been seen in live-action since Rogue One. Mon Mothma's story is building towards outright rebellion, with what appears to be the Ghorman Massacre, a tragedy that led to her leaving the senate to oppose the Empire outright. And there's even the Death Star...
The Andor Season 2 Trailer Is Star Wars For People Who Aren't Fans
The Andor season 2 trailer is very unusual for Lucasfilm; even the wonderful rock music choice ("The Revolution Starts Now" by Steve Earle) feels different. Throughout, there's a focus on some of the best reviews of the critically-acclaimed first season, reinforcing the message that this show isn't your typical Star Wars fare. This is something different; this is Star Wars for the people who wouldn't normally tune in.
Andor is unique among the various Star Wars TV shows, though. "Andor is one of the best holding Star Wars shows as we go later on, so people kept discovering the show well after its initial release," Jimmy Doyle - Director and Film & TV analyst at Luminate - explained to ScreenRant. This means Lucasfilm hope the show will draw in a much larger number of viewers than its first season.
Andor Season 2 Has A Unique - Epic - New Release Schedule
Andor season 2 has a unique new release approach. The show is broken up into four "chapters," each consisting of three episodes. Incredibly, Disney is dropping an entire chapter a week. That means Andor season 2 will effectively feel like a new Star Wars movie is dropping every week for its run. It's an incredible new approach for Disney, and a thrilling one.

Andor Season 2 Cast & Character Guide
Andor season 2 returns with an extensive cast, including some familiar faces from the show’s past, some big Star Wars returns, and new characters.
Each chapter is set in a different year, running up to the events immediately before Rogue One. The trailer shows returning characters from Rogue One, notable K-2SO, Cassian's droid companion in the show. We're in for an origin story at last - and more from Ben Mendelsohn's Orson Krennic. The Andor season 2 trailer really couldn't have been much more exciting.
