DICE has detailed a number of free content updates coming to Star Wars Battlefront 2 throughout 2019, including a brand new co-op mode and the return of the Clone Commandos. The game is approaching its two-year anniversary since its problematic launch.
Despite lukewarm better progression system. It doesn't look like the developer is going to stop ing Battlefront 2 any time soon, with more content planned for 2019 and beyond.
DICE has revealed the newest content roap for Battlefront 2 in a forum post on the game's official site. The roap covers the rest of 2019, and includes some big additions like a four-player online co-op mode, the return of Instant Action, and playable Clone Commandos. In August, the game is getting smaller versions of the Separatist Dreadnought and Republic Venator added to map rotation in the Heroes vs. Villains mode. There will also be some much-needed changes to the Capital Supremacy mode: contextual spawning will allow you to spawn on command posts, like the old Battlefront games. Damage to Capital Ships will be persistent now, and attackers are on a 5-minute timer to destroy them - which should make the mode feel less like an unending tug-of-war. Battle Droids will also be getting some new appearance options, which can be freely selected.
September brings some of the most significant content, including a new large-scale map on the jungle planet of Felucia. A unique PvE co-op mode is coming in September as well, in which four players can team up as either the Republic or the Separatists to fight across all five Star Wars Episode 9: Rise of Skywalker, but didn't go into detail for fear of spoilers.
DICE looks like it's taking some of the most nostalgic elements of Battlefront history, like the Instant Action mode, and using them to improve its own modern rendition. The acknowledgment and inclusion of Clone Commandos is exciting as well, as they starred in one of the best Star Wars games of yesteryear. At this point, there's no denying that Battlefront 2 has become a much better game than it used to be. For those still playing the game, it seems they have a lot to look forward to.
