Warning: contains major spoilers for Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters - 4-Lom & Zuckuss #1!

The focus of bounty hunters, and in a recent issue, one of them has undergone a General Grievous style make-over. Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters - 4-Lom & Zuckuss #1 brings a new adventure for a dynamic duo of hunters, with a major twist. 4-Lom is getting a major upgrade - and it doesn't bode well for his best friend, Zuckuss.

War of the Bounty Hunters has been featuring some of the galaxy's most well-known bounty hunters, as well as some new faces fresh to the Star Wars canon. From Boba Fett to Deathstick, there is a lot of trouble during the hunt for Han Solo. A different kind of trouble has been found by Zuckuss and his partner, 4-LOM. These two made their debut in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back and usually work together as a bounty hunting duo.

Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters - 4-Lom & Zuckuss #1 has the creative team of Daniel Older, Kei Zama, and Vc Ariana Maher. 4-LOM, also known as "FOR-ELLOEM", is separated from Zuckuss during a fight with fan-favorite bounty hunter Boba Fett and eventually finds himself reprogrammed in this issue. However, his mind isn't the only thing that has been tampered with. He is given a new body in an upgrade that bears quite the resemblance to the infamous General Grievous.

4 lom upgrade body

4-Lom is a protocol droid that is part of the LOM series - a type of droid built to look like the Gand, the insectoid species that Zuckuss belongs to. Typically, he has two arms and wields a blaster or rifle. Now, he has six arms that are outfitted with deadly new equipment. His silhouette is now much bulkier than it used to be, sharing more in common with Star Wars' FOR-ELLOEM is still attached to the new body, but he has stopped trying to kill Zuckuss - though the two do not reunite.

This new version of 4-Lom appears more deadly, though far less in control of his own actions. He is a formidable foe, but thanks to other friends, Zuckuss survives the encounter. If not for their intervention, the Gand certainly would have met his doom at the hands of his partner. Like General Grievous, 4-Lom's body gives him additional speed and the ability to elevate himself using his surroundings. While Grievous' limbs allow him to wield multiple lightsabers, 4-Lom gets dual gun arms and two arms ending in triple blades. This upgrade comes from Dr. Cribiriz, an old foe whose brother 4-Lom and Zuckuss murdered while aiming for Cribiriz. 4-Lom's new body also comes with a remote control, which Zuckuss manages to destroy, but the upgrade seems to have caused more damage that will take a while for 4-Lom to recover from. It may be some time before Star Wars' bounty hunting duo reunites as a result of 4-Lom's General Grievous style upgrade.
