The Ghost crew featured a diverse range of personalities, as did their most important allies and enemies. If the main characters of Star Wars Rebels attended Hogwarts, it would be intriguing to see where the Sorting Hat placed them based on the characters' personalities, core values, and character development. The Sorting Hat would have an easy time with some of these characters while others would pose a much greater challenge.
Star Wars Rebels introduced fans to many new characters but it also featured the return of established characters. For the established characters, their stories outside of Rebels also need to be taken into consideration when sorting them.
Hera Syndulla: Gryffindor
Hera was always driven by a sense of what was right and just. Even before she and the Ghost crew were officially part of the Rebel Alliance, she always believed in fighting for a cause much bigger than herself. After becoming a key member of the Rebel Alliance, Hera still held true to her convictions and was never afraid to do what she believed in.
When Rebel leaders were unwilling to commit to a direct attack on the Lothal factories manufacturing the Empire's formidable TIE Defenders, Hera stood firm and delivered a rousing speech about how the risk was worth it and that even if they failed, they would show the Empire and the galaxy that they would never stand down in the face of fear and oppression.
Maul: Slytherin
Like any worthy Slytherin, Maul's ambition, cunning, and resourcefulness had no bounds. It began when he trained to be a Sith Lord under Darth Sidious. Even after his body was cut in half, Maul rebounded and trained his brother Savage Oppress, took control of Mandalore, and built a criminal empire.
Despite losing all of this by the time of Star Wars Rebels, he continued his Slytherin ways as he gained influence over Ezra Bridger and manipulated the powerful young Jedi to get what he wanted. Maul was willing to kill Inquisitors, blind Kanan, and corrupt Ezra, and would do anything to get what he wanted.
Grand iral Thrawn: Ravenclaw
What set Thrawn apart from other villains was his desire to intimately analyze and understand his enemies. By studying art, cultural artifacts, and symbols, Thrawn was able to form insightful connections that helped him always be one step ahead of his opponents.
His unorthodox approach featured the kind of analytical wisdom, intelligence, and creativity that only a true Ravenclaw could possess. While Thrawn wanted to be victorious in war, victory was always linked to knowing his enemy, an intellectual desire and challenge that is pure Ravenclaw material.
Captain Rex: Gryffindor
While serving alongside Anakin Skywalker in the Clone Wars, Rex learned the value of doing what was right, even if it meant going against orders. This fearless sense of justice and bravery continued to define Rex's character in Star Wars Rebels.
Rex was unafraid to run into perilous situations with the Ghost crew as he was always determined to help them and the larger Rebellion in order to defeat the evil and oppressive Empire.
Agent Kallus: Hufflepuff
Kallus believed in the Empire with all of his heart and served them with complete loyalty. When it eventually became clear to him that the Empire did not care about him as an individual and did not value his loyalty or hard work, though, Kallus became a double agent and shifted his allegiance to the Rebellion.
Hufflepuffs also believe in valuing others and treating them as equals. Kallus' Hufflepuff traits were appreciated and celebrated by the Rebellion and the transformation in his relationship with Zeb proved that he was a true Hufflepuff at heart.
Zeb: Gryffindor
Zeb embodied the best and worst Gryffindor traits. He could be hotheaded and rush into sticky situations without any plan, sometimes to the chagrin of his more levelheaded comrades.
Despite his gruff and sarcastic personality, Zeb was a deeply comionate individual who cared about helping those in need. He bravely faced many challenges to help others, even if they were complete strangers.
Chopper: Slytherin
Unlike the other of the Ghost crew, Chopper wasn't as invested in advancing an idealistic cause that was much larger than himself. Chopper valued self-preservation and when he did take courageous risks it was to help the of the Ghost crew he cared about--particularly Hera--and not necessarily the larger Rebel Alliance or galaxy.
Chopper could sometimes be downright selfish and mischievous. That being said, Chopper's resourcefulness helped the Ghost crew get out of a number of tight spots. For better and for worse, Chopper proved to be a Slytherin droid.
Sabine Wren: Ravenclaw
Sabine was intelligent and creative on many levels. She created unique and unparalleled weaponry, much of which she embued with her colorful art. Sabine also learned the value of wisdom as the series progressed. She was constantly evolving as a warrior, artist, and leader, and was wise enough to lead the liberation and reunification of Mandalore.
While Sabine could be a Gryffindor like the other of the Ghost crew, what made her a Ravenclaw was her ability to be deeply reflective as she confronted her past mistakes and forged an identity that celebrated her intelligence and creativity.
Kanan Jarrus: Gryffindor
Kanan became a much wiser character throughout Star Wars Rebels and there's certainly a case to be made for sorting him into Ravenclaw. This wisdom wasn't what defined Kanan the most, though. What defined Kanan was committing himself to be a Jedi Knight, training Ezra, and fighting for a cause that he believed in, regardless of the danger and odds stacked against him.
Kanan stopped running from his past and became an example of what true courage looked like, which culminated in the Gryffindor move he made when he sacrificed his life to save those closest to him and deliver a crippling blow against the Empire in one fell swoop.
Ezra Bridger: Gryffindor
Just like Harry Potter, Ezra had the potential to be a powerful Gryffindor or Slytherin, but he chose Gryffindor. When tempted by the likes of Maul or Darth Sidious, Ezra cast aside his ambitions and the belief that any means were justified to get what he wanted.
Ezra was always headstrong and unafraid to rush into dangerous situations, but what cemented his Gryffindor status was his final sacrifice in Star Wars Rebels. Like most of his plans, it took a great deal of nerve to pull it off, but he did the most courageous and selfless thing possible to save his friends and his homeworld, regardless of what it meant for his future.
