Despite all of the issues, divisiveness, and controversy surrounding the Star Wars sequel trilogy, the movies did add a lot of brilliance to the canon. It also added a collection of great characters who will likely have their stories continued for years to come.
Throughout each movie, the characters have some of the best and most memorable scenes in the Skywalker saga. The main characters of the story all have at least one scene they are truly known for that has and will stick in the minds of the trilogy's fans for years to come that either define their arc or are just such great moments they are ed better than most.
BB-8 - The Thumbs Up
Generally speaking, most characters have a more meaningful, longer-in-length iconic scene. BB-8 certainly has a couple of them, like his reunion with Poe, his role in the opening of The Last Jedi, and him going out on his own and finding Rey.
However, there is no doubting the iconic moment in the trilogy that made so many fell in love with him was his thumbs up. Of course, he is great in the entire Millennium Falcon sequence before Han and Chewie arrive, but that conversation and thumbs up with Finn are so memorable.
General Hux - The Hosnian Cataclysm
General Hux was one of a handful of characters who really did not fulfill their potential. He did better than the likes of Captain Phasma and the codebreaker/DJ but still was not hugely consistent or coherent throughout the trilogy.
He did have some great moments, like almost pulling a gun on Kylo and revealing himself to be the mole, which definitely challenges his most iconic moment. However, the Hosnian Cataclysm is an important event in the trilogy and his speech leading up to it was, perhaps, his best point in the trilogy, even if it arguably was pretty one-dimensional overall.
Supreme Leader Snoke & The Rey/Kylo Dyad - The Throne Room
Many will argue Snoke was another wasted character in the trilogy, which was not true until Palpatine got brought back onto the scene. Nevertheless, alongside the dyad of Rey and Ben, he brought about arguably the trilogy's best scene.
There have been issues pointed out regarding the choreography of the fight scene, but did anyone truly enjoying the movie care? It is filled with tension, the visual aesthetics were amazing, and it also contained an incredible moment between the trilogy's two best characters. Sequel trilogy fans will forever adore the death of Snoke, the shock surrounding it, and the brilliance of the fight against the Praetorian Guards.
Leia Organa - Training With Luke
Leia is another character that had quite a few memorable scenes, with her reunion and last moment with Han being one alongside her death scene in The Rise Of Skywalker.
There is something so special about her training scene with Luke, though. It is not only exhilarating to see the Jedi siblings train together, but seeing Leia outmatch her brother, wield her saber, and show a further glimpse of the potential fans always knew she had, is phenomenal.
Han Solo & Chewbacca - "Chewie, We're Home."
The excitement in 2014 and 2015 leading up to The Force Awakens was immeasurable. Most of the fandom was in harmony, rife with anticipation for what was to come, and that only increased when trailers began releasing.
Undoubtedly, the most iconic moment from any of the trailers was perhaps The Force Awakens most iconic moment in general when Han and Chewie are reunited with the Falcon, and Han so goosebump-inducingly states, "Chewie, we're home."
Luke Skywalker - Force Projection On Crait
Luke Skywalker was undoubtedly the most divisive character of the trilogy, with a portion of the fandom unhappy that he did not go out on his own and take out the entire First Order with his laser sword or that he went into isolation in general.
Nevertheless, he was incredible throughout his time, with Mark Hamill delivering one of the best Star Wars performances ever in The Last Jedi, and giving fans one of Luke's best ever scenes on Crait. Everything about his Force projection is brilliant. His reunion with Leia, his face-off with Kylo, his wink to Threepio all adds up to create such an unbelievable sequence ending with his poetic death.
Poe Dameron - Shows Himself As A Leader
Poe Dameron is a character who, while great, was a huge victim of the lack of plan in the trilogy. His arc was so up and down both in its quality and its direction. Thankfully, he was still a good part of the trilogy with great scenes.
He has two iconic scenes that go hand-in-hand, and they are both him taking leadership. The first in The Last Jedi, when he stops Finn from helping Luke and realizes Luke is stalling to let the Resistance live, taking charge and leading them out of the crystal caves. The second comes at the trilogy's end when Leia has died, and he becomes General, asking Finn to him as co-General.
Finn - Escaping With Poe
The "General." "General." scene in The Rise Of Skywalker is one of Finn's most iconic scenes also, just like the escape from the First Order is one of Poe's.
The entire escape sequence is one of the best in the trilogy. The instant chemistry between Finn and Poe is incredible, with both John Boyega and Oscar Isaac delivering in spades. The two also have a reunion later in the movie, which is memorable, but this scene helped kick off the trilogy in an amazing fashion.
Kylo Ren/Ben Solo - With His Father
Kylo Ren was undoubtedly a highlight of the trilogy. Adam Driver delivered perhaps the most consistent trilogy of performances in Star Wars, challenging the likes of Ewan McGregor, and Kylo had so many great scenes, especially with Rey.
His two scenes with Han Solo, though, will forever be ed by fans, with their gorgeous parallels and huge meaning. The death of Han Solo was the first heartbreak of the trilogy, and when he returned as a memory of Ben in The Rise Of Skywalker, it was a tear-worthy surprise. Adam Driver and Harrison Ford were amazing, and the two scenes are two of the trilogy's best.
Rey Skywalker - "I Am All The Jedi!"
Rey, later becoming Rey Skywalker, is another character with a handful of iconic, brilliantly crafted scenes that could arguably be her most iconic. Her taking the Skywalker mantle, her introduction, her fights with Kylo, even her time with Luke were just among some of her best moments.
However, when she looks up into the stars and the various Jedi of the past speak to her, it is chilling. When she proclaims, she is all the Jedi and destroys Palpatine, it was an incredibly powerful, fist-pump-worthy moment that truly capped off the war spectacularly. Fans can only hope there is far more Rey Skywalker to come in the future, but either way, this moment will be adored by sequel fans for generations to come.
