Ahead of the Star Wars Celebration 2025, Electronic Arts has revealed a brand new single-player turn-based tactics game, Star Wars Zero Company. Although very little is known at this time, the small amount of information has already gotten longtime fans speculating about which characters from Star Wars' pack roster could the player's team. And with the setting confirmed to be during the height of the Clone Wars, it presents a great opportunity for a mixture of some of the franchise's most interesting characters to make an appearance
Palpatine's new Galactic Empire to seize power. With a mixture of clone troopers, Mandalorians, smugglers, and bounty hunters on the official release image for Star Wars Zero Company, I have a wish list for characters I'd love to see in my elite squad.
10 Hondo Ohnaka
Weequay Pirate Captain
One of my favorite characters introduced during The Clone Wars series was Hondo Ohnaka. From the moment he appeared on the screen, Hondo made his presence known in the universe and was an utter delight every time he appeared in an episode. After kidnapping Count Dooku and holding the Sith lord hostage along with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, the Weequay became an occasional ally of the two Jedi.

Han Solo Isn't The Only One: 10 Pirates & Smugglers Who Made Star Wars History
Han Solo is far from being the only smuggler, pirate, or rogue to make Star Wars history. Many others have made a major galactic impact as well.
Hondo would be a fantastic asset to any squad as a pirate and skilled smuggler as they venture out on missions in Star Wars Zero Company. As so little is known about actual gameplay, it’s hard to speculate on how individual characters will impact a squad. However, Hondo's s and charisma could come into play on missions, perhaps giving bonuses or providing alternative solutions to problems.
9 Cad Bane
Duros Bounty Hunter
First appearing in The Clone Wars when he led a team of bounty hunters into the Senate, Cad Bane went on to appear in many episodes, often putting him at odds with the Jedi and the Republic. Bane, a well-respected and talented bounty hunter, was not cheap to hire, with this client list including high-ranking Hutts, Dooku, and even Palpatine. With his signature brimmed hat and ruthless efficiency, Bane stood out from the crowd of bounty hunters who flourished during the Clone Wars.
Although he tended to work alone, there were times when Bane ed teams, so having him a squad for Star Wars Zero Company wouldn't be too out of character. Time and again, Bane demonstrates his strategic cunning, making him a perfect choice for a tactical game. With proficiency with multiple weapons, and especially twin blasters, Bane would most likely be a flexible squad member rather than locked into one role.
8 Fives/CT-27-5555
Clone ARC Trooper
I doubt there are any fans of The Clone Wars who don't get teary-eyed at the mention of clone CT-27-5555, better known as Fives. Fives was first met during the episode “Rookies”, which followed a brand-new squad of clone troopers on their first assignment that goes wrong. Fives quickly became a fan favorite and was pivotal in several episodes before tragically meeting his end after figuring out the truth of the clone's inhibitor chips and Palpatine's role in the conspiracy.
Fives' involvement in Star Wars Zero Company would depend heavily on when precisely the game is set, as he was killed during the final year of the war. However, as an ARC trooper, Fives would give a tremendous advantage to any team he was a member of and was trained in the use of many different types of weapons. Fives was also highly skilled in military tactics and reconnaissance, making him a great choice for any team of operatives.
7 Rex/CT-7567
Clone ARC Trooper
Perhaps one of the most well-known clones of the Clone Wars era is Captain Rex, who led the 501st Legion under General Anakin Skywalker's command. Rex stood out even among his fellow soldiers with his no-nonsense approach and unwavering loyalty to those he served with. Rex was one of the only people who knew of Skywalker's marriage to Senator Amidala. Rex was even lucky enough to survive the Clone Wars and make a life for himself with fellow veterans Wolffe and Gregor before reing the fight against the Empire.

How Star Wars: Republic Commando Changed Clones Forever
Star Wars: Republic Commando changed how clones were depicted in Star Wars by showing them as people rather than interchangeable drones.
Rex was a highly respected leader by both his fellow clones and Jedi, making him an obvious choice for a squad leader. With combat, tactical, and piloting skills, Rex could work as both an active team member or mission for Star Wars Zero Company. It will be exciting to see how Rex and other clone troopers fit into the plot and expand on what is already known of this time period.
6 Savage Opress
Zabrak Sith Apprentice
From morally gray and good characters to one that is firmly on the dark side, Savage Opress is an interesting choice for those looking to build a team of bad guys. Born of Dathomir, Savage was chosen by Asajj Ventress when she wanted revenge against Dooku for his betrayal. However, Savage quickly proved there was far more to him than met the eye and set out in search of his brother Maul.
Savage could provide a less well-trodden alternative to including Darth Maul in a game while still allowing an independent Dark Side to be recruited for a squad. Savage is a powerful warrior, both physically and with the Force, making him a dangerous asset to any team. If chosen over Light Side Force s such as Jedi, he could also open up alternative options for missions.
5 Bo-Katan Kryze
Death Watch Mandalorian
Linked with Savage and his brother towards the end of the Clone Wars, the Mandalorian terrorist group Death Watch sought to overthrow their world's pacifist government. One of the leading of this organization during the Clone Wars was Bo-Katan Kryze, sister of the current ruler of Mandalore and future ally of Din Djarin. During this period, Bo-Katan was a hot-headed young woman who ruthlessly carried out Pre Vizsla's orders with little regard for civilians.
Bo-Katan Kryze was voiced in The Clone Wars by Katee Sackhoff, who went on to play the character in live action for The Mandalorian.
As a Mandalorian warrior, Bo-Katan wears beskar armor ed down through her family for generations, protecting her in battle and striking fear into her enemies. In keeping with Mandalorian tradition, Bo-Katan uses a wide range of weapons and technology to keep the upper hand in any fight, making her a valuable team member. If Bo-Katan does appear in Star Wars Zero Company, it would be interesting to see which version of the character is used: one loyal to Death Watch or the one leading the resistance against Maul.
4 Fennec Shand
Human Bounty Hunter
When she first appeared in The Mandalorian episode “The Gunslinger”, Fennec Shand was at the end of her career as an elite bounty hunter and assassin. However, as seen during her appearance in The Bad Batch series, during the Clone Wars, Fennec was just starting out and trying to make a name for herself. Little is known about Shand during this period, and I'd love to see her right at the very beginning of her career when she's still learning the ropes.
As seen from her later appearances, Fennec will become a cunning and efficient assassin who is calm under pressure and can talk her way out of tense situations. So I think it would be fun to see how she became that person, and having her be a part of the ‘unconventional team’ of Star Wars Zero Company seems perfect. With skills in hand-to-hand combat and sniper rifles, it's clear to see what made Fennec Shand so sought after.
3 Rush Clovis
Human Politician
Unlike other characters on this list, Rush Clovis is not a skilled fighter by any stretch of the imagination. First appearing as a romantic rival to Anakin, who was also working with the Separatists, Clovis disgraced himself and the Banking Clan with his actions. Later in The Clone Wars, he tried to repair his reputation by working with Pé Amidala to uncover corruption. Still, everything went wrong after a deal with Dooku backfired on him.
Although a human, Clovis was raised on Scipio by a Muun family.
Clovis would not necessarily have to be a squad member to appear in Star Wars Zero Company. Depending on when, during the Clone Wars, the game is set, Clovis would work well as a or quest-giver for several factions. With links to the Republic, the Separatists, and the Banking Clan, Clovis represents a great opportunity to have one character act as an intermediary for the team while expanding on his character.
2 The Bad Batch/Clone Force 99
Elite Clone Squad
It might be cheating a little to list the Bad Batch as one, but it doesn’t feel right to separate the team, as they really do come as a pack. Clone Force 99, better known as the Bad Batch, is a group of modified clones, each with particular talents that set them apart from the regular clone troopers throughout the Republic. Originally made up of four , the team was later ed by Echo once he had been rescued from the Techno Union.

Why Star Wars Needs A Bad Batch Game (NOT A Republic Commando Remake)
Star Wars: Republic Commando is a great game that's well regarded by fans, but that kind of game should receive a new experience with the Bad Batch.
Given that the Bad Batch's first appearance takes place quite close to the end of the Clone Wars and their series showing events after the formation of the Empire, little is actually known about most of their exploits. This is a great opportunity to show some of the adventures the team had, which earned them their reputation. Also, given the odd nature of the Batch's missions, working with outside forces such as the squads of Star Wars Zero Company is very plausible.
1 Obi-Wan Kenobi
Jedi Master
Finally, looking at the key image of Star Wars Zero Company, it's hard to ignore the lone Jedi in his robes standing among the motley group. This immediately made me think of Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Jedi Master who was no stranger to undertaking unorthodox missions during the Clone Wars, and what a perfect choice he’d be to work with an elite but unconventional team. Kenobi himself needs no introduction, with the character's first appearance dating back to 1977 in the original Star Wars movie.
As seen during his mission undercover as Rako Hardeen, Kenobi is very much capable of using mundane weapons just as well as the Force or a lightsaber. For Star Wars Zero Company, Kenobi could make a valuable Jedi or even a team member for limited missions. However, until more information is learned about gameplay or plot, it remains unclear how any established Star Wars characters would work in this exciting new game.
