Storage Wars: What Dan & Laura Dotson Were Up To Before Season 13
Dan and Laura Dotson are husband and wife auctioneers and seasoned Storage Wars stars. Find out what they were doing before season 13 aired.
Darrell Sheets. Self.
Darrell Sheets, a.k.a "The Gambler," is one of the Storage Wars veterans, having appeared on the show since its premiere in 2010. Darrell's interest in storage units started in childhood, and Storage Wars gave him the platform to explore it. Darrell and his son Brandon appeared on the show for nine seasons together. However, Brandon left after Storage Wars season 9. Still, during this time, Darrell has grown into a fan favorite due to his appetite for taking significant risks and his huge personality. One of his biggest highlights came in 2012 when he made a bid of $3,600 on a unit that contained Frank Gutierrez's art collection.
Brandi ante. Self.
Brandi ante made her Storage Wars debut when the show premiered alongside her husband, Jarrod Schulz. Together, the pair became fan favorites right away due to their lively banter and antics. The duo were quickly nicknamed "The Young Guns" due to their age and inexperience compared to their co-stars. In 2014, Brandi and Jarrod left Storage Wars to star in their spin-off, Brandi & Jarrod: Married to the Job, which focused on their day-to-day lives as thrift store owners, partners, and parents. However, it only lasted a season before the couple returned to Storage Wars.
Sadly, by the time they returned for Storage Wars season 13, Brandi and Jarrod were no longer together and appeared on the show separately. During the season, the couple's marital problems translated into some heated on-screen moments, which included bidding wars and stand-offs, according to Looper. However, after an altercation offscreen that got Jarrod charged with domestic battery, he didn't return for Storage Wars season 14. Meanwhile, Brandi has remained a vital member of the show.
Dan Dotson. Self.
Dan Dotson is a successful auctioneer and one of the most recognizable voices on Storage Wars. Dan, who has appeared in all 15 seasons, comes from a lineage of auctioneers dating back to the 1940s, and he started performing auctions when he was just 11 years old (via AETV). Dan appears on the show with his wife, Laura Dotson, and together, they run the American Auctioneers company, taking their profits based on percentages of the bids. Dan has been in the auctioning business for over four decades, and he's very proud of his legacy, the "auction chant" (an auctioneer's rhythm of speech), which he has also taught his wife.
Laura Dotson. Self.
Laura's the business partner and wife of Dan; the pair have appeared on the show together for over 15 seasons. Like Dan, Laura's interest in auctioneering started very early, and she has been in the business since 1988. However, after meeting Dan in 1996, the duo became business partners, married, and welcomed three kids. Besides being the co-owner of American Auctioneers, Laura also owns StorageAuctions.net, a website focused on providing self-storage units throughout the U.S. and Canada. Since she made her debut on Storage Wars in 2010, Laura's bright personality has made her a fan favorite. Also, her end-of-auction catchphrase, "Don't Forget to Pay the Lady," is an iconic part of the show.

Every Storage Wars season since 2010 has caught viewers by surprise with some shocking findings, and some of them are totally unbelievable.
Barry Weiss. Self.
Due to his love of collecting antiques, Barry Weiss, a.k.a. "The Collector," was a prevalent cast member of Storage Wars for the first four seasons. Barry's performance earned him a spin-off titled Barry's Treasure, which only aired for eight episodes before it was canceled due to its poor run on A&E. Afterward, Barry starred in another short-lived spin-off called Storage Wars: Barry Strikes Back, which only lasted for 10 episodes.
Although Barry's decision to leave Storage Wars was unexpected at the time, the reality star later explained it, saying, "It was fun, but I had enough, and I kind of wanted to leave while it was still popular," per Distractify. Nonetheless, Barry returned to the show during Storage Wars season 14 in 2021 after a long hiatus. He has been a regular cast member since then.
Ivy Calvin. Self.

Popularly nicknamed "The King of Palmdale," Ivy is a no-nonsense, ruthless buyer who would travel anywhere to fill his shelves. Ivy, who owns a store called Grandma's Attic, always has a quick turnover due to the constant supply of merchandise and would do anything to satisfy his dedicated customers. Due to his past career as an MMA fighter and arena football player, Ivy always makes his presence known and is quite competitive when facing other bidders.
