Netflix's hit show Stranger Things season 5, which will be its last, is expected to release at some point this year. Actor Sadie Sink, who has played Max since season 2, took to the press circuit to talk about the season 5 as well as her feelings about the show coming to an ending.

In an interview with Josh Horowitz on his Happy Sad Confused podcast, Sink spoke about the emotions that come with wrapping up a show and the talent of her fellow costars. She also commended the Duffer brothers and mentioned the importance of the show's crew.

I think it was a really hard season to shoot, and our crew just worked so hard every single day. Us as actors, like, we're not there every day, but the crew was for that entire year. And with that and with the material that we're working with, it's such a big show. It's like, yeah, you go up and down between your emotions, [they] just kind of shift a lot. But definitely, we were all on the same page, and that final push in the last month, where it's like, this is hard, this has been a tough year, but, oh my God, I don't want it to end.

I was definitely just like, very numb to [the show ending] at first, and then the table read hit, and I was just like, I was crying after that, crying that morning with Maya in the car, and we're just like, "what's going on, what's happening. Why? Why is it just hitting in this moment?" But I think something about knowing what the end was, and seeing, "end series" on the script, it was so much. But then we were fine after, because we had months to go, right? And then the final day happened. It's like, oh, this is messy. So yeah, it's difficult, for sure.

I think everyone did such an incredible job. Like, truly, and I think the overall thing I'll say is just, I think this is the season where you really get to see all of the, you know, former child actors as adult actors and the Duffers have always done a great job of meeting us where we're at, and with the material, and just how much everyone has grown as performers on this in this cast, there's some really amazing performances and arcs. And I'm just, I'm so proud of everyone.

What This Means For Stranger Things Season 5

The Cast And Crew Were In For An Emotional Ride

Sink's interview indicates just how close the cast of Stranger Things have become as she revealed the actors' emotions at the show's final table read. The final read being "messy" shows just how intense their connection is to each other and the show, which has been in production for over a decade. The final season of Stranger Things no doubt roused the cast and crew's feelings about working together, especially given their long-running relationships. Sink's declaration that she "doesn't want it to end" shows just how tight her ties to the show are.

We're in for an exciting final ride with the matured cast of Stranger Things. The show started when the actors, such as Millie Bobby Brown and Finn Wolfhard, were in their tween and teen years. Now, they are full-grown adults bringing years of acting experience. With age comes growth, and we are sure to see just how much the cast has improved. Season 5 should in particular provide Sink with some good material, as Max was left in a coma at the end of season 4 and will wake up from it to find a Hawkins that's been invaded by Vecna and the Upside Down.
