Not all The Avengers are human. Despite being called the Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Marvel's best super-team make up of more than just the human population or that of the planet. The team frequently expands their doors to heroes across the galaxy and beyond, meaning that many of its are aliens from outer space. Some of the best superheroes can't as humans.

By proxy, some Avengers have been robotic androids. Avengers who are not held back by the limitations of being human often make up for being the strongest Avengers in the history of Marvel, as well as the strongest comic characters in the overall universe. Power levels can be ranked by tier in the Marvel Universe, and the less human that some characters are, they are often the most powerful. Superhuman strength rarely matches up to alien strength, cybernetic strength, or even mutant strength.

While often has spent his hero's journey trying to run from his gifts in hopes of reversing his rocky appearance, Ben Grimm has a hard time complaining when it comes to the actual strength that he's acquired as a result of becoming The Thing. He's an asset to every super-team.

7 The Vision is Ultron's Strongest Creation

The Device for Evil Becomes a Force of Good

While the villainous Ultron opted to create The Vision as a tool to defeat The Avengers, the last thing the A.I. evildoer expected was for Vision to them. Since then, he's proven himself as being more pure of heart than anyone would expecte out of somebody with an artificial heart. Many of Vision's best storylines have focused on the emotions he manages to have as an artificial intelligence, even seen on- being brought to tears upon ing the Avengers, but it is often overlooked the benefits of him being A.I. when it comes to producing additional strength.

Like any other A.I., Vision can constantly be updated as time goes on until he reaches his most powerful form. His most powerful form might be too ambitious even for the MCU, but in any case, the point remains that he can only become stronger, depending on how he gets upgraded overtime.

6 Machine Man Proves Not All Robots Are Evil

His Superhero Career Unites Humans with Robots

Machine Man's story showcases what happens when scientists want to test a theory: how can a robot become human? A top-secret organization created 51 robotic soldiers who could display human tendencies. One scientist, Dr. Abel Stack took home the model X-51 robot in hopes of raising and treating him like a human, certain that a robot could only act and think like a human if one was raised as such. His theory was proven correct when all 50 of the remaining robots stashed away at the facility grew mad and displayed murderous tendencies.

X-50, meanwhile, adopted the name Aaron, and the superhero title of Machine Man. When the 2001: A Space Odyssey hero met Iron Man, he mistook Tony for another robot, but nonetheless was able to aid in rescuing people. His superhero career shows the more humane side of robots, while bringing humans and robots together in harmonic peace.

5 Jocasta is Another Ultron Creation Turned Good

This A.I. Was Too Advanced for Evil

Ultron didn't stop building robots meant for evil after The Vision turned on him. Jocasta Pym was created with the intention of wanting a romantic partner, brainwashing Hank to transfer the mind of The Wasp into Jocasta's body to offer her sentient intelligence. Some would say that dating the robot counterpart that he himself created makes for something of a toxic power couple, but the power aspect would be undeniable. The experiment fails, but Ultron nonetheless activates his would-be wife with a remote link to her. Her program specified for her to love, honor, and obey Ultron at all times.

Yet, the advancements of her A.I. allow her the option of free will, helping her inevitably defy Ultron to the Avengers. She's powerful enough to counter-attack her own programming, while on a physical level, her strength is equal to that of Ultron. She also uses this free will to embark on love of her own. Her willpower helps her pursue love elsewhere.

4 The Impossible City Pulls Double Duty with The Avengers

Doubles as The Avengers Headquarters and a Member

Similar to the robots built by Ultron, The Impossible City was originally used as a tool in destructive atrocities. The Impossible City is a sentient landscape that was enslaved by The Ashen Combine, a sect of villains who fought the Avengers. Upon their defeat, The Impossible City was eternally grateful to the point that it asked The Avengers if it could them. Since then, The Impossible City has served as both a member and an official headquarters for The Avengers. On its own merits, City has proven to be a Thor-tier hero, able to move planets if it wanted.

Seeing what Impossible City is capable of should make The Avengers and citizens within the Marvel Universe grateful that most robots seem to be on the side of heroes.

The Impossible City is an absolute powerhouse, both in of brainpower and in of the actual power it displays. Seeing what Impossible City is capable of should make The Avengers and citizens within the Marvel Universe grateful that most robots seem to be on the side of heroes.

3 Ultron Might Be the Most Unexpected Avengers Member

From Villain to The Avengers' Key Ally

In a surprise twist of fate, a version of The Avengers' most prevalent enemy has become their ally. During the short-lived Avengers Inc. series, the mysterious Victor Shade emerged, causing confusion for her partner Janet van Dyne. The Wasp wasn't oblivious to the fact that Victor Shade was once a secret identity of Vision's, all while possessing the body of the late supervillain Whirlwind. His true identity is revealed to be a version of Ultron, part of OG Ultron's plan to use robotic ants to corrupt supervillains into becoming him.

To thwart these plans, Hank Pym rewrote Ultron-12's programming into Victor and gave him amnesia in hopes that it would help him sport more heroic qualities. Hank's plan worked, and this version of Ultron (rebranding himself as Mark-12) officially s the Avengers. The concept of a good-hearted Ultron is a surprising one to accept, but Mark-Twelve is kind and powerful.

2 Tigra is a Humanoid Feline

One of The Avengers' Most Underrated

Just as much as Tigra is an overlooked member of The Avengers, it is also overlooked that she isn't human. Her appearance largely gives that fact away, but her origins don't make her out to be a human who gains superhuman abilities. Instead, Greer Grant Nelson comes from a breed of feline humanoids called the Cat People. She can switch between looking human and looking more like a cat, but she can't be strictly classified of coming from either race. Her powers afford Tigra a bevy of abilities, including super strength.

She isn't among the strongest or most powerful of The Avengers, but her ferocity as a feline woman make her among one of the most vicious. Her strength doesn't just stem from how much she can lift, but just how swift her movements can be during a fight, adding an extra pound of power to her punches.

1 The Hulk is the Monster that Bruce Banner Can't Be

The Hulk and Bruce Banner are Different People

This might be a controversial option for some as this is dependent on an ongoing debate. Audiences and even creator are split between the idea that Bruce Banner and Hulk should be treated as separate people, or if they should be treated as one and the same. It's a surprisingly controversial topic, but hypothetically, if they were to be treated as different entities, then the Hulk is the farthest from being human. He is a gamma-radiated monster who also happens to be one of the strongest of The Avengers, not to mention one of the superhero team's founding .

Hulk officially ranks as The Avengers' strongest member, largely because his strength is difficult to quantify. The behemoth's strength seems to amplify the angrier he gets. If he is at his maddest, then Hulk has the potential to decimate a planet. The Avengers had better stay on his good side.
