While DC Studios' new Superman and Lois locked in for the reboot, social media has already been buzzing about the Superman: Legacy casting announcement. However, in a hilarious turn of events, an old tweet from December 1, 2020, from @KunaliB has resurfaced where the directly predicted Corenswet and Brosnahan's casting, even if it was for Matt Reeves' The Batman universe.

While not tied to The Batman franchise, the was correct in a sense, as their casting ended up being part of a new universe altogether. It didn't take long for Twitter to praise the 2020 predictions, with several fans sharing their reactions to the tweet about Corenswet and Brosnahan ending up in Superman: Legacy. To this point, Gunn have only confirmed a few details about Lois and Clark in Superman: Legacy and how the DC Universe will depict them differently from past live-action incarnations. With Superman specifically, this will be a younger take on the Man of Steel without the film being a straight-on reboot. Instead, Superman: Legacy will explore Clark in his early days as a superhero and protector of Metropolis.

Given that Brosnahan is only three years older than Corenswet, this version of Lois may actually be closer in age to his Superman. Past Superman TV shows and movies have traditionally depicted Lois as being a couple of years older than Clark, including Smallville, Superman & Lois, and Man of Steel. This time, however, Gunn might want to explore both characters at the same time during their younger years throughout Superman: Legacy and future DC Universe projects.

It will likely be quite some time until Gunn reveals specific story details for Lois and Clark in Superman: Legacy, as they still have several other characters left to cast. But needless to say, it's a massive step forward for the Superman reboot to finally have the two leads locked since filming is said to be happening in January 2024. Hopefully, if DC Studios have any presence at San Diego Comic-Con this summer, more news about Superman: Legacy may be revealed during their Hall H presentation.
