In the preview for Action Comics #1068 by Gail Simone and Eddy Barrows, Superman faces an otherworldly threat known as the Gorathians, who threaten to destroy Earth. The aliens' warship is heading straight for Metropolis, and the Last Son of Krypton has seconds to come up with a plan to stop it. In an effort to save the planet he's come to call home, Superman prevents the warship from destroying the city by combining his speed and strength.

By using two of his powers at the same time, Superman manages to save the day without any casualties. The Gorathians may claim this feat to be impossible, but if there's one thing Superman can always accomplish, it's the impossible.
