Needless to say, fans of Survivor are pretty ionate about the show. Seemingly, no subject is off-limits when it comes to discussions, with special terminology only recognized among Survivor fans such as "pagonging" frequently appearing in conversation.

Pagonging Is Fine

Pagonging is not technically a real word, but rather a special term coined by Survivor superfans to describe the act of one tribe systematically taking out every member of a rival tribe, one by one, following a merge. Most fans agree that a live tribal council could eliminate the last-minute scrambles and whispers and prevent Pagonging.

But, one Redditor, Knickstape08, believes that Pagongings are fine, "as long as the players in control are interesting." Most disagree with the view, however, in the overall thread, and want live tribals to become part of the show in order to eliminate the possibility or likelihood of Pagonging.

Negative Views Of Rob Mariano

There's an"Boston" Rob Mariano had some memorable moments on Survivor, and most viewers seem to like him.

The vast majority of fans in the thread express positive views about Rob, saying that they respect his game. However, a handful of fans, including PumkinFunk, aren't so fond of him. That Redditor calls Mariano one of his "least favorite contestants" and says they "never enjoyed watching him." They bring into question Mariano's abilities at playing the game, which is contrary to what most others say in the thread.

Coach Was "Robbed" Of His Win

Many fans believe that Coach was "robbed" of the win on his season, but one Redditor, u/Misnome5, presents a pretty good argument against that, noting that Coach just wasn't self-aware enough to realize what the jury wanted to hear.

The person also notes that people who claim Coach was robbed "undersell Sophie winning game" and the fact that she had not only a better social game than him, but arguably even a better physical one as well, since she won multiple challenges.

All Controversial Players Are Universally Disliked

While it might seem like the most controversial Survivor "villains" are universally disliked, this Reddit thread highlighting disliked players that fans actually do like proves that this isn't exactly the case.

While all these players might have sparked conversation among fans and engaged in questionable behavior, lots of fans enjoyed watching them on the screen and appreciated their gameplay.

Jeff Probst's List of Top Ten Winners Is Wrong

For the most part, fans agree with host Jeff Probsts' picks of the top 10 Survivor winners of all time, which he made six years ago. However, one fan in particular, DabuSurvivor, takes issue with either some of the choices or Probst's justifications for them.

He calls Probst's views of attractive women "unsettling," disagrees with the assessment of John Cochrane being the "most unlikely winner ever," and says the write-up about Yul is "the exact opposite of how he played." Nonetheless, this Redditor appears to be in the minority.

Survivor Isn't A Good Show

Many other fans express their opinions, suggesting that they believe people who don't like Survivor either only catch snippets of the show here and there or blame Survivor for the influx of sub-standard reality shows it inspired in recent years.

Cirie Didn't Deserve A Win

Cirie Fields talks strategy with an off-screen castaway on Survivor

Not only do Redditors believe that it's a travesty that Cirie—one of Survivor's most likable players—ever won the show, but she hands-down won a poll from a specific Reddit thread that asked fans to weigh in on who they believe to be the best Survivor players to have never won the game. Also making up the top-five was Domenick Abbate, Rob Cesternino, Malcolm Freberg, and Amanda Kimmel.

Cirie Is The Best Survivor Player To Have Never Won

While the consensus is that Cirie was the former player voted the best player to have never won, many Redditors argue that she should not be in the number-one slot.

Instead, they believe it should be Ozzy, and they proceed to discuss the many reasons why he is the most deserving player who has never won. In the actual poll, Ozzy Lusth, who had some legendary quotes on Survivor, actually only ranked tenth, which many Redditors take issue with.

The Show Has Gotten Easier

Some fans believe that the show might have gotten easier over the years, with players seemingly getting larger rewards or more help. However, die-hard fans dispute this in a Reddit thread, saying that it might only seem that way for a number of reasons.

One possible justification is that some of the more survival-based content is made available as "secret" scenes online. Others suggest the fact that the players still lose so much weight as proof that the seasons now aren't any easier than they were in the beginning. Survivor remains one of the most dangerous reality TV shows.

The Worst Season Is Any One But Thailand

In an interesting general discussion in a Reddit thread started by u/wilsonreviews, fans are asked to weigh in on which season they believe to have been the worst to date. The overwhelming majority chose Thailand, which was the fifth season from 2002 that saw Brian Heidik crowned winner.

Fans say everything from that the season has aged terribly to implying that the race "isn't even close." Some even go so far as to say that the season is "unwatchable." Thus, anyone in the minority who suggests One World—season 24 with Kim Spradin as the winner—or Ghost Island—season 36 with Wendell Holland as the winner—as topping the list of worst seasons doesn't get the popular vote.
