From director Zach Snyder, Army of the Dead combines the zombie apocalypse and heist genres in an exciting twist on the classic action film. Approached to retrieve $200 million dollars from a casino vault in the now zombie-ridden Las Vegas, a group of mercenaries embarks on the mission, unaware of what dangers await them inside the quarantined city limits.
Snyder's Army of the Dead delivers some compelling action and shocking visuals, but isn't clever or fun enough to be more than a shallow zombie flick.

Army of the Dead is a wild ride, genre-bending zombies and heists in only a way that Zack Snyder can. It gets off to a real firework of an opening sequence that sets the scene—incredibly well done—the chaos of a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas. At the forefront is Dave Bautista, who leads a quite eclectic cast, each lending their flavor to the mission at hand. The action is hard, the comedy dark, and the visuals stunning. Even as parts seemed a little overdone, it still delivered on its promise of pure entertainment.
In places, a very entertaining popcorn movie, but it is hard to enjoy the fun when it drags for so long at a nauseating two and a half hours. No need to be that long.
Army of the Dead is a really premise that unfortunately falls victim to Zack Snyder's overindulgence. Pick a lane in this one, dude. Like that he is wild enough to throw in possible aliens and time travel. Dave Bautista is great as always.
