  • My most favorite Star Wars movie

  • The weakest entry in the prequel trilogy, Attack of the Clones is a spectacle visually but leaves a lot to be desired in the writing, both with dialogue and plot. The worldbuilding is stellar, and the art direction remains on point, but it feels too reliant on digital effects after TPM carefully blended both worlds. Furthermore, the romance between Anakin and Pe is... Difficult, with Lucas' attempts at Shakespearean dialogue falling flat due to writing and poorly directed stars. As a whole, it's enjoyable, but also showcases Lucas' flaws at their worse.

  • This movie has grown on me quite a bit the last few years, but I still think this is the worst of the original six films. A lot of this works and I don't think the central romance between Anakin and Pe is as bad as others might think. My hottest take about this is that I don't care about anything at all when it gets to Geonosis. Obi Wan vs Jango Fett is spectacular though.

  • Attack of the Clones is an enjoyable, yet rather middling effort in the Star Wars saga for three very good reasons: the generic plot, Anakin’s dialogue and his romance with Pe. It can also be said that most of Anakin’s dialogue is so bad it’s good.

  • The weak middle of a trilogy, Attack of the Clones sets itself at the wrong moment of Anakin's life, jumping ahead too far for a character whose corruption is the entire point of the enterprise. Hayden Christensen barely turns up for work.
