  • I've always wanted to like Birdman more, but I never saw the huge appeal. I think it is too self-indulgently focused on Michael Keaton, as any audience knows that they are trying to conflate Birdman with Batman, even if they are doing it somewhat artlessly. also, it is not single take.

  • Birdman: The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance combines cutting meta-commentary with some of the most brilliant direction of any film, making for a story that's a masterclass in both writing and visuals. There are few stories like Birdman, and anyone looking for a good drama to watch should certainly give it a chance.

  • I can't believe Michael Keaton worked his butt off in this unpredictable film that meticulously looks like it's been done in one-shot, only for him to have to actually be Batman again. He's wonderful in this strange movie that asks questions and refuses to give you answers.
