  • I it that movies about making movies are just catnip for me, but this is an underrated Coen brothers gem. Brilliant performances from Hollywood's A-list fill out this Biblical romp, and the setting and costume design provide finishing touches that make this feel like it's straight out of a midcentury technicolor dream.

  • Fast, quippy, fun and incredibly literate in its subject matter, Hail Caesar's positives can't hide the cold hard fact that the Coen Brothers just aren't very funny. George Clooney and Scarlett Johansson are used well, and star Josh Brolin puts in a performance worthy of a better film.

Hail, Caesar! Review
7/10

Hail, Caesar! is a funny and madcap, if unfocused, farcical salute to Golden Age Hollywood from the Coen Brothers.
